Grew up on cured pork meats then about four years ago I developed an allergy to pork. Went into anaphalactic shock - in which case you won't have to commit suicide, just don't call an ambulance. Nice way to go if you don't panic.

Apparently hypothermia is a good way to go because your body goes into a state of euphoria

You literally have the best euthanasia setup. When you're 85 and over shitting your pants, smash half a dozen viagra's, eat 3 kilos of fried bacon and as your turning into a human balloon, fuck the dirtiest hooker you can find till you drop dead.

UOTYH: Ministers of the Commonwealth Government being criticised for voicing their opinions on sentences being given in our courts. At least these Ministers have been elected by the voters of their electorates as members of the Commonwealth Parliament. Judges haven't been elected by anyone - just appointed. If they don't like the heat then they should get out of the kitchen.

It's becoming impossible for anyone in this country to voice an opinion on anything without being taken to task. Ridiculous.

Tbh this is a widely held opinion. I used to do some work for one of the three MPs so I'm bias in this instance. I see it as a freedom of speech issue more than anything else

TTIM: Justice Kaye. The number of light sentences he hands out and the extent to which they are light sentences is ridiculous.

Any criticism of Kaye is highly deserved.

Its how they criticise the courts. I note that The Australian did not contest that it was contempt of court but that they were merely the messenger. I thought it was a deliberate attempt to create publicity against the courts and then they would apologise. Ministers have been criticising courts every year of my life but most of them do it generically without referencing a specific case that is before the courts. And given that they are all lawyers they knew precisely what they were doing and it was not criticising the courts per se but generating publicity.

Oh, and dictatorships are reknown for ensuring that any criticism of a court ends up in their favour.

The public lynching of Fahour has gone too far

When I saw the vision it looked a lot better than the description of it (people made it sound like he belted someone from behind). Still worth a lengthy suspension though and with his previous that's a life ban, which is fair enough.

Hard to be the face of the league to various communities when you're banned for life for being a thug, so he couldn't continue in his role, but yeah I've seen a lot worse "back in the day" on the Rugby League field.

I think that the punishment is suitable for the crime and likewise his resignation is the responsible thing to do. But front page of the herald sun and all the social media backlash is way too far.

I've done some pretty bad things on a rugby field and had bad things done to me (the bottom of a ruck is a dark place let me tell you). It's part and parcel with sport. I just think we're setting the bar too high for everyone and we will all be bland robots the way things are going

Have you stopped sugar altogether or just processed/refined sugar. As in do you still eat fruit?

I don't think it's possible to totally cut out sugar since it's in most things but I used to eat a fuckload of chocolate, lollies etc and have 3 sugars in my coffee.

I just make a conscious effort to have as little as possible, I think Chobani is the the most sugary thing I eat now and I'm way healthier as a result.

UPTIH: The Bulldogs Side of last Season will not be a side remembered as a great Premiership Side, rather as the side that got lucky in a very even year. In the same way the 1997 Crows side got lucky in a year which had no real stand out sides.

Why?

They werent/are not that great a side and they got lucky in six distinct ways:

1. The Bye Round should be prior to the GF to have the best GF, not prior to a month out from the GF and before the finals to allow lower ranked sides to get players back as the Bulldogs benefited from more than any other side.

2. The Bulldogs GF opponent in Sydney's has a list that is unbalanced with their top older players being very good and their being some good kids but their last six players demonstrate why they are great side for Home and Away Games and Finals but IMO your bottom players are what wins you a Grand Final.

It is not a coincidence the Swans keep making the GF in decent form and then losing them.

3. I wanted the Bulldogs to win that match but I dont think anyone who watches enough footy could label the umpiring as up to standard you would expect from the league's best umpires in the biggest match of the year.

It did not decide that match but the Bulldogs def benefited from the umpiring more than the Swans and the bigger the game the bigger the impact umpiring decisions can have on the game's flow.

3. Sydney as Flag Favourite should never of lost to GWS in the first place in their first final which would have meant the dogs would have had to play an experienced good finals side in Sydney in their Prelim Final. Instead they played an inexperienced GWS side who they only just beat because...

4. The Bye that GWS and Geelong received only hurt their chances in last Season's final series, Geelong still would have gotten canned by Sydney but considering GWS had never played finals until last year the whole concept of a Finals Bye would have been very hard for the young team to adapt too...

Which probably goes a long way to explaining why they just choked to the Bulldogs.

5. As this Season has shown Hawthorn who the Bulldogs had to beat to play GWS were clearly still heavily overrated like Geelong has been for years now due to an ability to snatch games in the regular Season. As a Geelong fan I can assure anyone that these wins leave your side usually exposed in finals... even to opponents everyone expects you to beat.

6. Finally if Isaac Smith had kicked straight then the Bulldogs would have had to play against the side they had by far the worst record/worst match up record with from the Top Four. This was Geelong who had beaten them both times in 2016 by over 20 points and four of the last fives time they have played.

Geelong were def not a better side than the Bulldogs but being able to not play the one Top Four side who had your measure best during the Season is a luxury very few Premiership sides get these days with a Final Eight system.

100% agree. They'll go down in history as a big moment because of the story behind it, but they are not going to go down as a great team by any stretch of the imagination.

That is exactly my point...

Nobody wants to say these things because it takes away from "The Story" and considering it was an even Season PPL were happy for side with little success to be the side that got Lucky (Because somebody had to in such a Season).

I agree with most of that premise tbh. The Dogs were an average side that played their best footy when it counted, and prob got there more on a manic desperation unseen in recent years and some terrific coaching rather than any level of ability. I think that's reflected clearly in the fact they a) finished 7th and b ) their output this year. For a side that sits in 10th at 7-7, they've fallen in against Collingwood, Richmond and NM (twice). The hunger has dropped off.

Still good on them, and it takes away nothing from their achievement last year imo. In many ways it makes it more special.

In reference to last season, I'm of the firm belief that GWS were the best side in it last year and were ultimately undone by the Dogs and their unconventional approach. The fact they sit on top this year, despite having what is one of, if not the worst injury streaks in modern AFL history shows how deep they bat (and probably why no-one rates anyone in an even year).

Couldn't argue much the above points all very accurate.

The only point I would make that the eveness (if that is a word) of this year actually began last year. Finishing 7th and making and then winning the GF will become more common.

So basically any team in the top 8 has a genuine chance of winning the lot.

I don't actually agree there. I think you'll find that 9/10 premiers will still come from the top 4, it's such a hard task to string together 4 in a row against quality sides at that time of year.

Of course the pre-finals bye does make it easier for those coming from outside the 4, but i strongly have my doubts that that stays long term. It was just another stupid knee-jerk reaction to a rare, and relatively meaningless situation.

After 1997 and 1998 PPL said they league would remain even but then came Essendon and Brisbane came along...

As someone who has followed the entirety of the AFL (I used to read any Footy Record from back to front as a six year old in the last year of VFL) I can say generally these even years usually come in two's before the competition enters a new stage of where the best sides put some distance between them and the pack.

This is generally the pattern for an Elite League in a certain Sport... for example its the opposite the other way around as time has shown the list of Grand Finalists have gotten weirder and weirder in the WAFL, SANFL, VFA as the AFL increasingly took supporters interest away from these Leagues.

Crap

each to their own but I've never understood why people pay money for these drinks. I find them horrible. As to the dieting benefits? I think the well known philosopher and deep thinker Paris Hilton summed it up when she said "only fat people drink Diet Coke". For those on here that don't fit that, hey you are the exception that proves the rule.

@cadete. Excellent post, though hardly unpopular.

All I would add is it's no coincidence that the teams who won the right to another bye then went straight out, which is exactly what happened most of the time in the old final 5 system, both here and in Sydney. The pre-finals bye placed the 1-4 teams at a distinct disadvantage, which quite frankly  shames and embarrasses the AFL.

(not that I mean to take anything away from the Dogs, they still had to win)

I just had a look at 442 forum to see what it's like. From the 10 minutes on that site I realised that people are actually serious and don't muck around. And I find myself here...again ( no sarcasm intended)

You know, I actually think this forum is one of the better sport forums going around. We do have some crap (and I probably contribute to that lol) but I think that on the whole, the good posters far outweigh the bad posters.

Another thing that this forum has going for it, is that it almost has a brotherhood about it. A lot of people on here know each other in real life, and yet there's still no real divide between people that know each other (mainly through the terrace I think) and people who don't. It's not the best source for rumours or news, but I feel that sport forums that place too much of an emphasis on that lose a bit of fun (ie: 442, reddit A League, West Sydney forum). We have a great mix of informative posters (@GreenSeater, @Murfy1), @Embee and humorous posters like @strider and @Baka1which means we have a great variety of things to read.

We also have posts fairly frequently compared to a lot of other Internet forums, the Tard forum before it was closed and the WSW forum both have far less posts per day than ours, and I'd say our is about level with the Sydney forum. The mods on our forum do a great job as well compared to these other ones (particularly @jw1739and @thisphantomfortress, cheers fellas)

I dont know why I posted all of this, just felt like it.
