Torn Asunder
http://www.footballaustralia.com.au/melbourneheart/jobs I wonder if this is a newly created position. If yes, brilliant news, as it is an additional investment by the club in coaching /technology.
Tommykins
'Highly developed skills in Excel' An excellent move, I presume this will replace Ron Smith to some degree and end up being a position based in Melbourne. I say presume in the I'm-taking-a-wild-stab-in-the-dark sense of the word.

Duchess
Sounds like they want an IT guy and a fantasy football expert in the one position. I won a title with Barcelona on football manager, if that counts. I didn't actually though
Tesla
I don't think they know what they are looking for, which makes them look very unprofessional.

Red or Dead
Sounds like they want an IT guy and a fantasy football expert in the one position. Sounds like me, but I doubt they'd pay much for someone to teach the coaches how to use excel and create powerpoint presentations! lol
Melburnian
Pay peanuts get monkeys. Get monkeys to do the work of 3 men in one role and get poor results.

jw1739
Any idea where this fits with respect to Ron Smith (whatever happened to him)? Agree with Melburnian - it looks like three roles combined. Looks as though we want another qualified football coach who actually knows how to use a spreadsheet and type a letter, and also provide 'high-level IT support' (i.e. fix up the boss' computer when he's lost a file or e-mail or can't get the printer to work). Is this what they offered Bolton?

Attack11
Shouldn't the club conduct a search of there own for such a position, instead of posting up a job so anyone can apply. I can't see other top teams in the world searching for back room staff like this... Maybe the club should approch someone with real experience and expertise in this field... That's my opinion... Torn Asunder
I hear ya attack, but here's the thing, we're not. Two points, 1, its good the club is investing more in new positions to aid the coach. 2, if you are prepared to take a relatively shitty pay deal, what a brilliant opportunity to get a foot in the door at an A-league club, working with the coach / players, travelling for away matches, setting up systems for match analysis, etc.. Beats football manager hands down...
