Popular Post FB.
Expecting this to be a good thread. Feel free to add your own items or stroies from years gone by. Goes without saying, remove names/blur pictures etc. where needed. Going through the wardrobe today and came across a few things; FIRST EVER YARRASIDE SCARF One for the Yarraside archives this. Can remember Braveheart rocking up to our 1st ever tifo sesh at some warehouse which we'd spent a full week in at Hoppers & being greeted by about 15 delirious ysiders suffering from acute cabin fever, 3 days out from the club's first ever game, sporting this tattered piece of cloth which he'd ripped out of the sewing machine factory just 30 minutes earlier and asking all us lads if we were fine to go ahead and get another 100 ordered for the CCM match. A resounding yes was offered and that was that. When we get our own clubhouse one day, this will be getting pride of place - framed and hung on the main wall behind the bar. FIRST EVER YARRASIDE BANNER Produced in Braveheart's crack den in inner suburbia. Courtesy of Hendo-sun. Hang up at the pub at one of our first supporter meets. God knows where this historic artifact is now, can remember it being used to wipe spit and beer off our drum in season one. No doubt it's now probably being used as a cum rag for hendo's staph infected cawk somewhere across the Anatolian orient. FIRST EVER TIFO DISPLAY Everton. Pre-season 2010. Tim Cahill. 19,000 Toffees fans, 500 Heart fans and about 40 yarrasiders. Copped beer in the back of head, copped coins for standing and trying to chant for our side, got into a few rumbles & then had to deal with Vucktree flogs trying to knick our gear on the way back to the carpark. We're by no means perfect, but fuck we've come along way since those heady days where we couldn't even stand and sing for our own side. Onwards and upwards yside FIRST EVER FLARE Geelong pre-season Away. Season One. Club's 2nd ever official hitout. First time we ever got told off by the famous Kosta. The anticipation was palpable. Would we score. Would the flare work. Would caridobenj pickup the stick and dance with it like a fucking idiot (for the record yes he did). Great night out that. Special mention has to go to Hellenic John, forever dubbed Pyro John from that day for providing us with the goods. Sadly he was taken away from us by the football gods for some unknown reason, hope he's still around and reading this place, got a free pint waiting for you at the imp from me if you ever make it down again mate. FIRST EVER STADIUM BAN First Away trip to Adelaide back in 2010. Popping the Away cherry. Sleeping on the streets. Fighting with gangs of 12 year old aboriginals. The 14 hour bus ride back. Think there's now about 35 of us who have copped one of these 3 month bans at one point or another over the last 3 seasons. One for something as ridiculous as supporting his club too aggressively "by waving his arms and yelling too loudly" at a game. Really isn't an Adelaide Away without the Weslo cunts in their cowboy hats handing you one of these little green slips. Another item set to be framed and hung 15 years from now when we have our own clubhouse. Edited February 20, 2013 by FB.

Young Polak
Not a history piece yet, but it's safe to say that with Subbuteo reviving now, and the active thread we have on this forum, has influenced people to start organising a subbuteo club/tournament in Melbourne. With a former professional player from the UK now residing here in Melbourne (also supporting Heart) , Talking to Vincent C.( with connections with WASPA and numerous subbuteo clubs and associations) and the enthusiasm of collecting teams and painting supporters in terraces and sharing them with others on the thread, creating a vibe and mass interest. I personally believe that we have the right to claim that some y-siders here have been a significant factor of establishing the first tourney/club ever in Melbourne that is currently in process (still in a fledgling state) (credit to True Until I Die to initiate this and partnering up with them). It is still a dream for me but once this finally arrives I will be all over this shit, take my y-side scarf and take a few snaps and hopefully other ysiders would come to this event. The Schip Happens article of December 2012 would also be a great add-on for this if anyone has a hard copy of it. Hazzaverx
Interesting read or more specifically view.. Must say does show another side of the support/motives behind the club and support. Even though I'm not up to date with all the KGB stuff etc. it's still a good thread. So thankyou! DutchPride
Funny as fuck thread. 95% sure it hit me on the shoulder, and then broke on the ground, pretty good throw though, don't why he did it though, didn't even take a bite. alexiano
An epic, Guinness world record performance and one that I'm sure is etched in a lot of people's minds. theresonlyonebzamora
easily 10/10 thread. unfortunately supaturk has purchased all rights to the videos of his alcohol-influenced birthday rampage at the riser (season 1 IIRC?) other notable moments: - user myki and i seeing a security guard king hit some guy outside a club in sydney - any of footbalism's adventures at the imperial/away games/home games/in the park over the last three seasons - changing the street sign outside a certain forum user's house to read 'yarraside tce' - "go west bromwich albion" and the infamous riser jukeobx

Makes me wish i kept some of my old tickets especially from the first derby, as well as my original heart top from season 1. Searching through the pile of shit which is my room hoping i can pull up my ticket from our first ever game against CCM Edited February 20, 2013 by kingofhearts

MaliMate
As someone who started standing in YSIDE only last season there is little that I can contribute here but there is a few things I've pondered. Who thought of the Yarraside name? Any story behind it? Like was it a group discussion thing? What were the other alternative names etc.

Who thought of the Yarraside name? Any story behind it? Like was it a group discussion thing? What were the other alternative names etc. Was decided a long time before the first season started, as far as I can remember. There was a pretty big discussion thread on the first supporters forum, and lots of names were thrown around. Then there was at least one or two supporter meetings before the season, and Yarraside 17 was the favourite of a forum poll, and the core guys decided to drop the 17 for pretty obvious reasons (expansion, etc.). I think there was a 'red faction' and others along those lines suggested.

Tesla
I think this was our second mega, after the first proved to be a dud. Don't remember who done the stenciling, I think it was baz. Even though both our usernames have changed, the message remains as true as ever. For the record, since everyone always wanted to know, LBC stood for Large Balkan Cock, as the years have gone on it was been established within the terrace circles that this was definitely not a misnomer.
