KSK_47
Blue Moon is a spectacular look at Man City (mainly through they eyes of a group of long term dedicated supporters) during the 09/10 season. Absolutely stunning cinematography and shows that despite what many people may think, there is still a lot of soul in top flight English football. Defenatley recommend watching it even if you are not a City fan.

KSK_47
Turkish Airlines have teamed up with New York artist Craig Redman and produced uncoloured portaits of sports stars and asked them to finish the job. Although this may sound like Redman is using the Barcelona squad as slave labour to produce cheaper quantities of work, its actually for charity. You can bid for them on eBay between the 1-10th May http://www.passengerportraits.com/ Edited April 27, 2012 by KSK_47

KSK_47
Being an uneducated, lower-middle class skip I have little to no interest in international affairs so I had to Google what most of this was all about... Football In Exile is a series of images by Dirk-Jan Visser. It explores the effects of the war-torn state Nagorno-Karabakh (the region broke away from Azerbaijan, but is not recognized as an independent state or country) from the perspective of two local football clubs. The exhibition and accompanying book are due for release next week. One to keep an eye on http://dirkjanvisser.com/?p=645 Edited May 20, 2012 by KSK_47

KSK_47
A 100ft statue of England manager Roy Hodgson has been erected on the English coastline – and it’s visible to Euro 2012 opponents France. The giant Roy the Redeemer statue is bookmaker Paddy Power’s homage to Rio De Janeiro’s famous Christ the Redeemer. The huge work of art has been placed above the white cliffs of Dover, giving it a prominent location overlooking our neighbours just 16 miles across the Channel. Weighing in at eight tons and boasting a 96ft armspan, the structure took a team of engineers two months to create and one week to install on the cliffs. Ken Robertson from Paddy Power said “Since Christ the Redeemer was constructed in Rio de Janeiro in 1931, Brazil has gone on to become the world’s leading footballing nation. “We’re hoping some of that success can rub off on England in time for their Euro 2012 opener against France on Monday. Anyway, at the end of the day this is definitely the closest Roy will get to Rio this month!” http://www.offthepost.info/blog/2012/06/100ft-roy-hodgson-statue-erected-visible-from-france/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+offthepost%2FTLAa+%28Off+The+Post%29&utm_content=FaceBook

KSK_47
Thanks to the accessibility of decent photo taking equipment in recent years, your average bloke is now able to become a photo-historian by simply walking into JB and buying a half decent camera, or even a phone. Providing you are willing to submerse yourself in the subject and not afraid to get your hands dirty sometimes, some incredible results are able to be achieved with very basic equipment. Russian based photographer Ilyas Hajji shows us that you dont need the best gear to capture the emotion behind the beautiful game. This series was taken using nothing but an iPhone. Although the 70s style instagram filter is a bit tacky for my liking, you cant deny that it is great work. http://www.behance.net/gallery/Anzhi/4381963
