Regardless of how much you hate Julia, please don't let this Neanderthal get the gig.

It is so unfair how PPL hate Julia,

It’s all these evil bullies fault:

The Mainstream Media (All the Media: Print, Radio, TV),

Wealthy People (People with Money - Anyone not in a Gutter)

And dont forget the Misogynists (Men.)

Our Julia has been a fantastic PM who has gone to such lengths to include all Australians in the way she has governed this Country.

Nobody she have a reason to dislike her.

Finally someone understands!!!!!!!

You just can't vote abbot! Julia is worse but fuck if we let abbot in he'll turn is into North Korea

You sound like have a solid grasp on Politics and International Relations, are you a Greens Member?

Don't forget to turn your clocks back one hour this Sunday..

Or if you're voting for tony Abbott, turn them back about 60 years

 Interesting :hmm:

As the last time they said we had a Federal Government that was lost in the 1950’s was the last time this country had a stable government.

One that did not spend its time stabbing each other in back and rather concentrated on things like the economy.

I say bring on the 1950's.

Why do you hate Julia so much??? I honestly cannot see the benefits of choosing Abbot over him.

Does Abbot even have any policies?? All he ever does is complain about ALP.

I'll be donkey voting like i do at every election anyway

Labor's changes to superannuation, whilst not as bad as they could have been, still :droy:

Individuals with over 2 million dollars super and earning $100k during the growth stage of their super? I think they'll survive :D

There are two tax increase the one which you seem to be talking about is an increase of 15% with accounts in pension mode not accumulation mode or "growth stage" as you called it. The benefits of superannuation for the economy is much more than just saving the government paying out age pensions. This is a short term grab for money by a politically party that has time and time again shown that they cannot be fiscally responsible.

Looking at how who is elected in the federal will affect us in Melbourne, we have 2 big infrastructure projects competing for funds, the East-West Link and the Melbourne Metro. Both cost around the same ($9-10 billion), both improve East-West transport, with one being a road and the other a rail connection.

Abbott has promised $1.5bn for the East-West link and has made it clear his government will be providing funding for roads only and not rail.

Gillard, on the other hand, has indicated that they will fund the Melbourne Metro tunnel, and quite significantly, with the state government looking for 75% funding, an announcement is expected soon from the Federal government.

On the one hand, I don't use public transport, so I'd prefer the East-West Link be built. Its an important addition to the road network, I can see myself using it significantly (if untolled, if its tolled I'd probably only use it occasionally).

On the other, the Melbourne Metro provides much more benefit to Melbourne, especially if its receiving more funding from the federal government than the East-West Link would. Basically our entire train network relies on this being built so that any significant upgrades can be made in the future. This is also the number one project on Infrastructure Australia's list.

I'd say Gillard has Abbott beat in this case TBH. Even without federal funding, the East-West Link could still be funded via a Public Private Partnership, selling the tolling rights to it and possibly some/all of the Eastern freeway, whereas I don't see anyway the Melbourne Metro will go ahead without Federal government assistance.

Pretty major outcome for Melbourne, affecting its future direction, either we become LA or we become New York.

What would be the population of all suburbs that surround Melbourne in a radius roughly from Werribee to broadmedows to Berwick? And then compare it to the population of inner Melbourne who would use public transport. Majority would not look in depth of the fundings of the projects that tesla had given, would have in their minds whether they want railway or west east link funding. Given that the surrounding suburbs would prefer the road project. And this could alter Melbourne in favor of which ever party if population is significantly larger than the other. I just assume vast majority of ordinary citizens have little in-depth knowledge of politics would be sheeps within the area that they live in (in my view).

Fuck it, i'm jumping off Julia Gillard and Labor support. Bunch of idiots.

I could post a thousand word essay on why cutting federal tertiary education funding in order to give more people a chance at tertiary education is stupid, dumb, hypocritical etc etc but i can't be fucked because everyone else on the interweb has already said it for me.

Don't mind getting rid of the 10% off of up front fees, but seriously, placing an efficency dividend on universities? Doesn't the government realise that productivity isn't as relevant to Universities as it is to government departments?

Do they seriously think that Education will still be a key export with lower levels of government funding?

Don't they realise that they've now alienated one of their key support groups in left wing arts students?

Why are they so bad at politics? Fuck them all, Tony Abbott would do the same i guess in terms of curtailing university spending but i've just given up on the rediculous  lack of courage the Labor party has to actually properly tax something like Mining that would earn them revenue instead of cutting funding on the basis of efficency to a sector that is already struggling to maintain educational standards.

:droy: :droy: :droy: :droy:

Get rid of this government already, even i'm sick of it. I look forward to seeing a cohesive government that actually works and is good at politics / selling policy because they aren't all complete dumbfucks....except on immigration. Scott Morisson is still a dumbfuck.

:droy:  Are you 12?

In 3 months i am  I'll get my Mum to send you an invite for the b'day party

I just can't vote for Abbot. He is just such a fucken tool, all i have ever seen him do is complain about Gillard instead of adding any intelligent opinion.

However, that doesn't mean that i hate all the Libreal party, Joe Hockey in particular, guy is smart as fuck and if ever given an opportunity to lead the Libs i would defiantly vote for him.

Vote for party policy, not for the figurehead provided to you by a group of people who want you to get them the best pension scheme with the least amount of work.

Policies that matter to me:

- Funding for Public Education (Probably Greens but in reality no one)

- More spending on Mental Health initiatives and training particuarly in rural areas (no one, maybe Greens or even K.A.P)

- Getting rid of subsidies / corporate Welfare for the Car Industry to reinvest into education and skills in differnet more comeptitive industries in Australia (Liberal)

- Stronger Tax on mining profits (Effectively No One)

- Continuation of Carbon Tax (Labor)

- Furthering the RET's scheme.  (Greens)

- Shift in Foreign Policy to less reliance on the USA and a change in particular to stances on Israel including harsher/fairer sanctions on its Nuclear Weapons program (probably Greens but they're far too hardcore in their policy)

- Better relations with Indonesia and China as strategic partners in the Asia-Pacific (Effectively No-one)

- Gay Marriage (Greens)

- Better treatment of Refugees including legalization of ability to seek asylum via air travel and increased foreign aid to assist refugees living in Indonesia/Malaysia to increase oppourtunity cost of boarding a boat to Australia in comparison to remaining in Southeast Asia (Greens sort of)

-Business confidence boosting through consistent policy  creating stablity(no one)

And, most importantly, Bullet train between Canberra-Sydney and Canberra developed as NSW's second airport.

SO effectively i don't want to vote for anyone, because i don't like the Greens.  Eh..will probably vote for Bullet Train Party in Senate and Labor for local member because Andrew Leigh is a top bloke and former lecturer in economics, so he knows what he's doing.

Well you can't vote so it doesn't matter does it? Was more targetted towards the North Korea bit. Am curious to hear how deregulation and decreased public spending will lead to us becomming a socialist dictatorship. :hmm:

Genuinely curious as to why you don't like the Greens enough to not vote for them when they seem to [be the only party who] represent a majority of the policies that are important to you?

Incidentally, I share your views on many of those policies - although I would add investment in metropolitan public transport infrastructure (especially rail) to the list too. According to Tesla this is a Labor promise so definitely something for me to think about.

I don't like most of their economic policy, and i don't think they're pragmatic in the way they do things. ETS is a good example of that, I don't like politics and politicians who are just trying to makethemselves look and feel good, rather than actually doing something for the country.

Which is why i'm fairly disillusioned with politics altogether...

And Simon Sheikh is the person running in my electorate for Senate from the Greens, and i'm extremely dissapointed in him becomming partisan.

I'm also secretly a member of the Bullet Party Train so i should probs vote for them   They're cool dudes.

Torn to pieces now. Was never going to go for gillard as she's fucking clueless, but abbot now wants to cut my pay, so he can get fucked aswell. As good as it would be to see the feminists of Australia rage at his election, I enjoy my penalty rates too much to see this through.

Greens are gay and I'm not naive enough to think that the sex party 'is actually a really good group'.

The donkey is looking the goods now, unless some extremist group pops up in the near future.

ffs, the Greens are gay? How old are you, 12? Well aware that i'm getting on my soapbox here but seriously i thought we were beyond calling stuff 'gay' in a derogative sense by 2013.

Also specifically blaming individuals in politics is probably the thing about how Australians view politics that annoys me the most - and there are a lot of things that annoy me. Tony and Julia are both intelligent, talented and hard-working individuals who should be admired. Parties as a unit should be the ones for whom unspecific blame should be directed towards. It is the institution of various politicians and people behind the scenes that fuck up in most cases, not just the specific minister.

I dont think a party who has gay marriage at the for front of their policies should be taken seriously. Lets fix labors mess before we start changing marriage laws. Btw i have nothing against it as long as churches are not forced into conducting ceremonies.

The greens party are a disease on this nation. We'd be using nuclear power by now if it wasnt for those fucking turd burgers.

Marriage equality is the easiest thing to do. It's a shame it's taken up so much space in public debate. The facts are a majority of Aussies want it, this majority continues to increase, and churches would not be required to perform them. Labor should've had the balls to do it ages ago. Then, we still wouldn't be talking about it and we could be discussing other important issues.

I'm gay, and I'd like to one day get married.

So how about this new Tax I mean Levy for the Handicapped that we should vote for?

Does this seem familiar to anybody else?

lessimpsondans30ans.jpg

I wonder if was Julia or Milhouse Swan who came up with one?

That we all need to spend more – Purely to help the sick and not for the sake of filling the Government’s Great Big Giant Hole.

Maybe it’s because this new Tax will only bring in $3.5 Billion a year for something that is going to cost $10.5 Billion a year.

Or probably  it is simply a case of us seeing the Gillard government waste money and time (Which costs money) on things like:

The Carbon Tax,

Rolling out The NBN,

And of course resolving the boat PPL problem all those years after Rudd decided to throw away the Working Solution.
