  1. I had one a couple of days before. Another survey. Turned out to be about what car I would buy and why if I ever buy another one. I gave up in disgust. However, I'm still waiting for a reply to my question for the FRG...club needs to get its priorities right. Ho-hum.
  2. Big attendance...of security officers.
  3. If we have the opportunity, give Max a go.
  4. Beach is on a contract until 30th June 2026. I don't think he's going anywhere, and Young's expires at the end of this season. I hope we'll see Beach between the sticks next season, or, yes, there's every reason for him to seek a release. But not yet. At least and at last Vidmar has had the balls to rest JMac and give Caputo a start. I think a feature of recent seasons has been a failure to give adequate time to younger players, but then we want the trophies too, don't we? And they've been delivered. Unless we magically scrape into third on the ladder with Phoenix above us, who are ineligible for Asia, then we won't be there next season, so perhaps Vidmar has more licence to experiment, but then again, while that small chance remains he's got to go for it, and Young is doing the job right now.
  5. Irritates me when Arnold is moaning about the facilities he had to use in Sydney. Play internationals where you can use existing proper facilities for training. Why couldn't they use Central Coast's "Centre of Excellence" - it's only in bloody Gosford up the road? Even play the match there - perfectly decent stadium and facilities. Play in Melbourne. Use the so-called "Home of the Matildas" or Casey Fields. And I think Adelaide are building or have built their own facility now. Continual calls for more funding are fine, but surely use existing facilities where they are perfectly adequate? City, CCM and Adelaide are producing the youngsters so I can't see why there can't be cooperation and common sense. The game is bleeding money so don't waste what we've got.
  6. For the emails referred to above...
  7. An apology email came out about 9 minutes ago!!!
  8. Yet more... https://www.abc.net.au/news/2024-03-19/breakthrough-victoria-bad-investments-no-transparency/103605338 How do we, as voters, change what goes on? Both major alternative governments are as bad as one another. Where is the accountability?
  9. How extraordinary! Two emails this afternoon from "sportsubs-storage-manager.azurewebsites.net" saying "welcome to the 2022-23 season"... Opened one but didn't click on anything. Deleted them now.
  10. Another shameful waste of taxpayers' money... https://www.abc.net.au/news/2024-03-20/commonwealth-games-victoria-cancelled-cost-revealed-report/103608858
  11. Kasey Bos. On Transfermarkt shows first club as MV.
  12. Again, isn't that relevant to members and other City supporters? I think it is. I can't find a list for the NPL squad.
  13. Thank you. But I don't resile from the view that if the club wants to thrive then it should be a one-stop shop for information. To have this "don't tread on their toes" attitude doesn't help either the club or VPL1.
  14. @Mr MO There's another video shot from the other side that says Casey Fields. But I don't know for sure. The other possibility is Parade College (either Bundoora or Preston). This begs the question - and I apologise because I've said it before - why the fuck there is this club veil of secrecy over where and when these matches are played, and the results, is beyond me. I used to enjoy traipsing out to Northcote when our NYL boys played there - in the days of Jeremy and Zach Walker. Nice ground. Easy parking. Coffee and foot available at half-time at the shop under the stand. Incidentally we are close to the bottom of the league - MV doing much better.
  15. Anyone looked at the club website recently? The top where it shows the fixtures seems all squashed up somehow and I feel the whole home page has a lot more white space than before?
  16. The statistic comparison with Haaland was no joke I assure you. Antonis' contract expires at the end of this season. I too think he's worth another year - very much so in fact. Almost a super-sub, and a reserve penalty-taker. Shows drive and enthusiasm and pride in the jersey.
  17. With age I've found that this actually acknowledges a friendship that reached its peak a while ago and has started to drift. It's no longer "active." I suspect that it happens more often than we would like to think. Age, retirement, moving house, a new job, children no longer at the same school, illness - a raft of factors. Not least the drift away from face-to-face contact in all aspects of our modern society. TBH I've learned to accept it, but sometimes it's sad. Loneliness is actually a a big social problem in Australia, and it's not confined to one particular demographic. Society as a whole is fracturing. The neighbourliness of my youth has gone.
  18. Also likely that we'll struggle to see one of these new" frigates" or whatever it is that are also now proposed. Perhaps I've only been paying attention to the Morrison and Albanese governments and ignored previous ones, but the capacity of these two governments to waste money is incredible. I read this morning that 46 lawyers have been drafted in to the Home Affairs and Australian Government Solicitor's army of solicitors to work on applications to re-detain the 149 immigrants recently released from permanent detention. This to add to the recently-created "Community Protection Board" that's already got them under surveillance. There must be a better way, surely?
  19. And his goals per minutes on the field in the ALM is just a fraction better than Erling Haaland's in the EPL...
  20. I stick with City and this bloody Forum only because I love you all too! That's what football is all about.
  21. I was there and 2,000 was my absolute maximum. I wasn't at Saturday's match but there have been a few in the past where "creative" seems an appropriate word... A couple of other points. I get the feeling that there was no VAR on Tuesday? Also we don't seem to be able to find enough ball-boys these days...
  22. What's the betting we'll never see even one of these submarines...?? https://www.news.com.au/technology/innovation/military/malcolm-turnbull-blasts-latest-blow-to-aukus-nuclear-submarine-deal/news-story/9020c8e4d3d2cd5149581acc5ad211f2
  23. Attendance: 2,182. Lowest-ever League attendance at AAMI. Previously 2,292. Both against WSW. Lowest in the Cup at AAMI: 1,800 or 2,905 in September 2018 (depending on the source). Again WSW. Antonis' goal almost 10 years to the day since Engelaar's in 2014.
  24. Natel wasted two 1v1 chances, but at 26 he can still respond to some good coaching. IMO his biggest problem is stopping forward momentum too often. I agree he's looking a lot more competitive. Nabbout at 31 isn't going to change, and IMO he doesn't score often enough to warrant a new contract. As to our wingers generally, Jakolis frustrates me. Last night I was more enthusiastic, but in fact it was Ugarkovic who put in the crosses that I had attributed to Jakolis. The big change up front has been Caputo. The boy has presence, he's slippery and moves around nicely. His anticipation and determination to get to the ball is great to watch. Even JMac seemed to be inspired by him.
  25. Tuesday 12th March vs Western Sydney: 3: Caputo 2: Arslan 1: Fernandez
