  1. Great. Just got back from a pre season in Germany and Spain. Played against some of La Liga's and Bundesliga's best and was praised for my qualities as a footballer by the likes of Luis Suarez, Messi, Cristiano, Roben, etc, etc. They really know their football in Europe and the middle east. They love ball players, technic, skills instead of big, physical headless chook players. I'm happy and can't wait till the local league, ACL and Arab Gulf Cup starts. Lots of great football.
  2. Spoke to Fernando yesterday. He thinks he'll be fully recovered, fit and available by mid November.
  3. FUCK you hater. What gives you the right to say whatever fucking bs stupid baseless comments about Cac as you have done since his arrival. If you don't like caceres that's your opinion but don't insult at others for liking him as a footballer. Once again FUCK YOU hater. You're full of it.
  4. http://www.theaustralian.com.au/sport/football/aleague-loses-young-star-anthony-caceres-to-the-middle-east/news-story/ad62dc33ea3ae8d87c258e647a33980c http://www.mcfcwatch.com/2017/07/26/manchester-city-midfielder-flies-to-dubai-to-finalise-move-to-uae-side-al-wasl/ At first I thought it was BS but not seeing him at our last friendly made me think about rumors of cac leaving. Unfortunately ( for most city fans),although not made official yet by the club, it's true that our most talented midfielder is leaving Melbourne. I saw "tuna" fornaroli this morning and talking to him he believes that Cac did the right thing by accepting the offer to play in the middle east. He said: " not only financially it is a very attractive offer but that the football played in that region is very south American due to the influence of the coach ( Argentinian) and lots of south American players. It really suits Anthony's style. He also said that he already misses him not only because he's a great player but most important , a great person to have around. Tuna's word's : " not the same without him, I used to laugh at the incredible skills during training sessions. None of us or in the a-league has the touch and skills of Anthony ". He also admitted that Cas was treated unfairly due to players who aren't better but have a tag. Really sad to see him go. Unlike a minority of this forum, I believe it's a big, big loss. Had great moments on the field where he showed uncommon technique for the HAL but as tuna said due to other political issues, he was never allowed consistency and given a fair chance to reach his full potential at city. Wish Anthony the best and like myself, many fans who enjoy good quality football believe that Cac will be very successful over seas.
  5. You bloody mejicano. You got me gringo. Caceres is a midfielder by nature but I also believe that he can do the job on the wing if provided with good service. Being an attacker you depend a lot on what's behind you.
  6. Then he scores one from outside the penalty box.
  7. The game and result didn't allow him to worry too much during the 90 mins but there were instances where he showed that he means business. I like his coaching style. You're too smart.
  8. I was there for the whole game. Your comment about Caceres is untrue and pathetic. First game of a pre season and already unfairly bagging our most technical player. There were others that did a lot less but it would be stupid to judge them on the first 45 mins of a pre season friendly . Cas, who played out of position ( left wing), did as good as everyone else in the first half of the first game of a pre season FFS!! He was involved and when on the ball he showed his quality. Btw, you're an idiot !! You should have stayed for the whole game like real fans do. Second half he was all class-ceres. Flicks, dribbles, beautiful passing and a great goal. Overall I thought most of the players looked sharp and by the looks of it, fitness will be much better than last season. The opposition did not offer much quality or resistance to our professionals but credit to City who did what everyone expected.
  9. Come on Petrillo, FFS!! Is MC a retirement village for AU players ? Surely there are younger and better defensive players than la Rocca. The opposition attackers must be licking their lips in anticipation of running at our mediocre " Jurassic " defenders. Keep making the same mistakes with our defensive players recruitment and the same fucking issues will still be there. Fucking unbelievable.
  10. Good signing if confirmed. A vast improvement on last season's backs. Now, get 1 or 2 good centre backs and another experienced ( 22 -28 yr old) decent rwb. Imo, we could do so much better than franjic or muscat. It'll be good to have someone else challenging them for the spot apart from the inexperience youth players. If we fix our obvious defensive issues, we'll be very serious candidates to win the title.
  11. I personally don't relate to the style of football that traditional English coaches like Joyce, preach and play. Direct, long balls and physical. Ignoring the most important element in football : technic, individuality, flair and all those attributes that have made some south americans and European nations more successful than England and the whole of Britain. Statistics show that due to that style of football, the inventors of the most beautiful game, are under achievers. In more than 100 yrs of the game, at national level, they have only won a world cup at senior and recently another at u/20s. His credentials don't make him look good but as a fan that wants the best for city, I will support him and give him time before passing judgement. If Valkanis continues as assistant, I will now say that it will be another long season.
  12. Average player and a major prick. Belongs with the tards.
  13. Could have done better but no doubts he'll bring a lot of experience.
  14. Brattan was allowed to play every game wether he was shit or not. Caceres won us our first game in nz and was rewarded with the bench the following. He was badly managed by both worst coaches in the HAL. Read it here you moron
  15. Caceres !! Great news !! Best football player we've got ( don't give a f#*k what the usual haters say), still with us. Hopefully, he'll be treated fairly by the new appointed coach. I'll be back at AAMI for sure now because at least good football is guaranteed when Caceres touches the ball. Now, get a quality keeper and 4 good defenders.
