  1. Went to the game on Friday. Great stadium, horrible terrace. First time in Gosford and was surprised by how small the place is. Plenty of work to be done by the club to bring in people in such a low catchment area. Good foundations laid with cente of excellence, community focus and youth progression etc but I still fear for them long term. Particularly if the academy doesn't spit out sellable assets.
  2. Watching the Syd derby and both terraces are full of team colour. Looks unreal to be honest. It got me thinking about the Yside and we never produce colour like this. Afl culture has lead to a lot of melbourneites not wearing team jersey's to games. On top of this, our terrace seems to have a lot of lads who wear polo shirts and there's the European style of capo & leaders of the terrace not wearing colours which has caught on I think it's an issue that could be addressed and something that would add a lot to the terrace visually. I say we all committ to wearing something red and white against the Jets. See if we can match these Sydney pr!cks.
  3. Kalmar is thriving in this deeper role. What a man.
  4. Ramsey is bordering on worst player to pull on the red and white
  5. Don't agree. I think he's been OK but the mediocrity of nearly other pr!ck has pushed him up. Defensively OK but offers nothing going forward and nothing through the middle of the park - almost always passing back or sideways. The Hoff is not a long term solution. Being back Mick Marrone!
  6. Germano is quality when fit. Shame he takes up an international spot.
  7. Anyone else keen to see Wielart dropped? Been shit after game 1. I'd start Vranks and Kisnorbo.
  8. Welcome to the forums Mr. Cirovski
  9. Only ever had one season where he's shown he can be anything more than a NYL quality player and that was at NQF but with players like Mehbratu & Ramsey fighting for his spot, Williams is likely to start who ever the coach is.
  10. Two points for the derby. No derby specials and every prick in the bottom left of the terrace with their polo shirts would wanna make some noise.
  11. IMO most things have been said about last night so I won't repeat them. It's pretty obvious when we line up before the game that on average we are on average physically smaller than our opponents, and that is always going to count against us. We are too easily muscled off the ball. Redmayne OK but has no idea when it comes to penalties, so we're pretty much going to cop a goal every time one is awarded. There's not a lot wrong with our back four, except we're short on height with Walker and Behich.Retre was our star last night. Presents himself well, and doesn't need speed to beat his man - just does it with hip movement like a true midfielder should.Mauk is good too, and needs more game time.Dugandzic never in the contest. Would be knocked off the ball in an U-10 game.Kalmar never in the game. Painfully slow. So often fires the ball straight back to the player who's just passed it to him.Murdocca ineffective, poor defensive marking and tries too much on the ball. Likewise Golgol - has all the skills (and gets his head nicely on the aerial ball more often than not) but tries to beat three men instead of laying the simple pass.Williams - missing in action. Overall the team is a shambles. Anxious and tentative, and zero confidence. Refer to other threads for what is needed - a "circuit breaker." Retre was shithouse misplaced passes and lost the ball while dribbling. Regarding kalmar, what would you have him do when he is given the ball with two players on his back, you expect him to make something of it? Of course he's going to pass it back, murdocca was a culprit of this in the first half, did it three times inside 5 minutes. Kalmar inside that first 15 minutes created more going forward than any other player. And while I agree regarding dugandzic being knocked off the ball, let's add walker in there cause he absolutely shits himself in any 50/50 contest. Agree on Kalmar. In principle, he takes the ball and attracts two defenders. Plays a ball to a creative mid like Matt McKay or even Fred FFS who can exploit the gaps created with a pass. Last night , it goes back to Mass or Retre who take it side aways or back further.
