  1. Just as Oneils goal will never be recorded, which is a real pity because it was a nice one.
  2. Same. He has surprised me massively.
  3. Cheers, but with Paramount being delayed its just weird
  4. Forgot how annoying these commentators are.
  5. This seems to have not aged well. https://melbournevictory.com.au/videos/id/victory-announce-777-partners-strategic-investment/6313266401112
  6. Depends which way you look at it. First clean sheet of the season.
  7. Fundamentally for me no club can be bigger than the League. But as seen many times before "some" clubs do get bailed out by the League. If Victory does end up bust, then I would expect similar. What should happen with no promo/relegation their licence should then be put out to tender and whoever gets the licence can then decide whether to continue as V2 or start a new club altogether. But I cant see that happening.
  8. You know whats ironic. The stick that the club and CFG gets beaten with is that it has endless resources and therefore isn't working as hard as other clubs or has an unfair advantage. What gets overlooked is how prudent our club is and fiscally responsible they are. Yes they could probably spend 100 times more than all the others put together but you know what they don't. They have a budget and stick by it. When things work on the pitch then everyone says boo, but when it doesn't thats when we want quick fixes, which generally cost. Insert a 3 to 4 million 35+ plus player that could transform the League.
  9. I agree totally. He has been great. And the midfield is well balanced and whenever Berenguer does return it will be another area where we have 5 or 6 starting players for 3 positions. Lets not forget Leckie at 1 point playing centrally was very effective. Gomulka is not at Oneil level but is good enough to start. But getting back to Berisha he is now looking to be part of a balanced exciting midfield and at some point I feel dominate games.
  10. I wouldn't read too much into it. Completely agree about body language and current persona but I think it's purely football. The bloke has lost his spot in both with us and national team and pretty much can't do much but wait and hope for an opening. We have probably 4 senior players in the same situation, Jamieson Reiss Galloway and Nabbout, obviously all with differing circumstances but ultimately same outcome, that is they have to wait and take their opportunities when they come along. And for me thats exactly what you want. Proper competition and 2 senior pros being kept on the bench by youth players (Tilio and Bos) although Tilio has probably moved out of the "youth" description.
  11. So what does that mean if you have a active membership for this game.
  12. I still don't understand this entire discussion regarding acive support and what should be done. To me this is purely a police/legal matter and has really nothing to do with the club or even the stadium. As far as I'm aware, throwing a flare at a sporting event or using a flare in anyway other than it was intended is illegal. Entering the playing arena is illegal. Willful breaking off chairs etc is illegal. Hitting someone over the head with a metal bucket is illegal. All of these offences should be prosecuted and if guilty the offenders should face the full consequences. 2022 now 2023 surely stadium security should be at a level where every flare thrown should be captured and the offenders with a little bit of work should be found. It will only take a few 10k fines and a few prison sentences for assault to completely eradicate the thugs.
  13. They got older, and will oneday become the pensioners sitting behind the goals waving their scarves or colostomy bags.
  14. Listen to latest talking city pod. Bang on.
  15. Have I missed something. Anyone can get an active ticket. And if not, its pretty easy to just get into active on a derby day. This entire lifetime ban is just horeshit, means nothing and is un enforceable under current settings. So it really means little if 200 idiots get bans, until people face the courts this is just show.
  16. That was first Derby in ages I bought extra tickets and was genuinely looking forward to it. Was decent crowd. Does anyone know the actual attendance.

    Tom Glover

You'd think not, but my point was that Glover has shown big lapses of judgement so I could see him possibly doing it, but then again na, that would be unimaginable, therefore that makes his actions even more provocative and careless.

    Tom Glover

I kind of do, the week before he had that moment when he handled outside the box. He is capable of an extremely poor decision. I honestly think he should receive some sort suspension even if he if genuinely didn't intend to launch it back into the crowd.
  19. 100%. Watch any big match in Europe and last 5 to 10 minutes the security "stewards" are massed around the pitch. In our scenario it would literally have been 30 metres maybe 50. Now hindsight is wonderful thing, but for the dumbness on the pitch, dumness in terrace the overwhelming height of dumbness has to be those responsible for matchday planning.
  20. I've had time to reflect on last night and I still struggle to reconcile the fact that for the myriad of reasons this game in this City and country is forever doomed. I cannot see this game ever becoming "normal", "mainstream". It will be always regarded fringe. The actual incident and pitch invasion was avoidable. Seriously they had enough security and Vic Pol present to line the fence at both ends as deterrent. A Glover, FMD, to say he made a bad choice, wow, that's Seriously got to be the dumbest thing he could have done. Izzo had several flares thrown at him, especially aftet we scored. 1 even burnt a hole in the the net, and for every flare thrown at him, he calmy removed of the field to the side and it became a non issue. But Glover hurls is back. What did he think was going to happen. And then to top it off he's got these morons charging at him and he's facing them standing his ground, just dumb. The bloke that I reackon is probably completely blameless was the ref, he actually tried to protect Glover and got covered in the sand. The funniest thing watching the news reports is that a one point as he is getting escorted off he blows his whistle. Anyway I think Glover will cop some suspension but by and large I think the game itself is beyond repair. Very very sad realisation.
