  1. Sorensen [Bouzanis] Franjic Chapman Jakobsen Colazo [Muscat] [Malik] [Tongyik] [Rose] Brattan Kilkenny [Retre] [Arzani] Cahill [Caceres] Kamau Fornaroli Fitzgerald [Brandan] [Gameiro] [Kuzmanovski] Obviously a big assumption re Colazo but gives you a fair idea of the squad make up.
  2. Haha pretty sure the Cheezels chants aren't pushed by Melburnians and come from random members of the terrace.
  3. Except that now UAE are also direct rivals. Nicking a point on Tuesday would be a massive step toward qualification
  4. One of the journos put on Twitter before that its a backended deal that will see him as marquee next season
  5. Agree that should be the reality, but he was chasing marquee wages and guest spot status only a month ago. Who knows, i noticed they avoided mentioning marquees and caps altogether so there might be something else happening.
  6. Have signed Holman. I wonder if this means that one of McKay or Broich are leaving?
  7. I still think we'll sign a marquee cb tbh although this signing definitely makes me question that a bit more.
  8. What's likely occurred here is that Clarke has been signed up to the NPL Team for the meantime, with the carrot of an injury replacement squad spot if he performs over the next month. That also keeps the injury replacement spot open for a bit longer if someone was to bob up that requires more coin down the track ie Luke Wilkshere. Given we dont usually announce NPL signings, that would be consistent.
  9. Im not arguing the marketing aspects to it, hence why i said i think they should do it at this point in time. Im just saying that the sense of entitlement is bullshit and any feeling that you've been jibbed is your fault, not the clubs.
  10. I think that's fundamentally wrong. It's basically why governments end up fucked fiscally, because when people receive a gift in good times, they expect it no matter what. We didnt pay for that Cup ticket last season when we purchased our memberships, it was a bonus. Thats what bonus are (or are supposed to be) : one off. FWIW Perth last night only gave free tickets to members that had signed up pre July 20 as an incentive. The Roars clash v Perth tickets were $15 for everyone.
  11. FWIW I think they should do that again for marketing purposes BUT, that free ticket is absolutely not obligatory and the club is giving all its members a bonus by giving those for free. The Nix ticket wasn't included as such, it was added on at the time of the announcement as an incentive to get there. The entitlement attitude doesnt really wash imo.
  12. Hmm to a degree, but at least Bucks had done somewhat of an apprenticeship. And even now I think you can still pick out some things that Bucks is pretty decent at. Obviously as a package he hasnt worked; but even if you have the best 18 coaches of all time coaching against each other, someone has to come last. Hird was appointed without a skerrick of experience, and really was put in as a marketing ploy. Not too dissimilar to one John Aloisi tbh.
  13. Absolutely there's some baffling ones. In saying that, there's not a single assistant coach or coach in the AFL that I would hold my opinion in higher regard than. Footy clubs are all different beasts and unless you know whats happening behind the scenes its tough to have a fully informed opinion. IMO footy clubs in the AFL are that professional these days that blokes dont just fall into coaching jobs (except maybe Hirdy) without having significant knowledge and skills.
  14. Tbh I think he'll probably get another contract with us on the back of this being his best season, not that thats saying much. If not I'd be pretty confident someone will pick him up. He's actually a worthwhile pickup as a ruckman, I actually rate him in that position; he just has very stiff competition at North. Not a forwards arsehole though. You social justice warriors are all the same; all appearance and no substance.
  15. Will probably take a hanger and kick a goal and they'll rave about how well he's playing, not realising he's ran into Waite/Brown/Petrie's space and cut off their lead at least 5 times for the quarter.
  16. Its got honorable first half before blowing out in the second half written all over it...
  17. Well Ballarat is much warmer in late September than mid-July
  18. With any luck this will go a long way to getting rid of them for the most part
  19. Pro Tip : keep them under your seat, then you only lose one beer at a time.
  20. Surely im not the only one that finds the beer shower when we score one of everyday lifes happiest moments?
  21. Sydney, but think Geelong, Adelaide and GWS are all decent chances. Wouldn't rule Hawthorn out, but not for mine.
  22. The bye was a typical KneeJerkFL reaction to last years situation, which in itself was a pretty rare occurrence. Should have never happened full stop. IMO Hawthorn is a good result for you guys. You'd be foolish to write them off, but i dont reckon theyre anywhere near the money this year. GWS are a decent smoky to go all the way this year i reckon, the obvious knock being their finals experience.
