  1. He'd have to have a seriously good game to keep Sorensen out. Which might imply we have a bad one
  2. Still think 20 points gets us out of the group. Should be aiming to get the 3 points against Saudi (H), UAE (H), Thai (H) and Thai (A). Pinch a point against Iraq (A) and Japan (A) and we have 22 and should qualify top.
  3. 34. Not surprised my score was shit with Bruno and Berisha failing to score. Had a midfielder not end up playing as well.

    I wonder...

I disagree. I dont really care either way, but i dont see the point of leaving. Doesn't really achieve anything.

    I wonder...

Dan Bilzerian on the other hand...
  6. Usually GA sit over the away bay but given its fully ticketed this time around anywhere down the South End probably. Even then wont make much difference.
  7. Given Etihad loses about 9,000 seats in a rectangular set up, x $49.80 which is the cheapest ticket available that's at least $448,200 they'd lose. I'd rather the seats out than the FFA hitting up grassroots and junior footballers for the dollars. FFA are hardly rolling in it...
  8. Lol. There is no way in hell he was responsible for that goal.
  9. When seats are out theres more capacity =bums on seats = more $$$$
  10. 5 on int duty (McGlinchey, Barbarouses, Durante, Doyle, Fenton) Of which imo, Barbarouses would have been the only one that made a significant difference.
  11. Unless we're getting over 15k, not worth what it costs to open it.
  12. The other thing with Rose being dropped was that it was towards the end of the season where they were 'looking to the future' so to speak and playing a young bloke at LB.
  13. It's definitely seats out. Can't remember where ive seen it, but it was on the Victory site or something. Take it to the bank
  14. Understandable. Look, dont get me wrong, i still think his spot is the probably the weakest link in the side, but i just dont think hes as bad as a lot of people are making him out to be. A lot of people are lining him up like they did Hoffman, blaming everything on him and automatically dismissing his game as terrible, even if he does 10 good things and fucks up once. Rose is certainly limited, but he's also very solid defensively imo, which given last season I'm happy just to see a FB that doesnt get caught out one on one.
  15. Clubs objective? They've said repeatedly in the off season that its to win silverware. Happy and content, yeh perhaps for now. Ultimately that will be realised when we claim silverware. If we dont i wont be. Isolated, 3 points on the road is a good result no matter how its played imo. Every game you play there should be positives to take from it, and things to take away that you can improve on. In this match, the first half was as good as anyone played over the entire weekend. Most days that half results in 3 goals imo. Second half, Rose made a bad error that made things a bit harder, but even then we were reasonably solid in defence and possession all things considered for the final half hour. Plenty to work on, but plenty of positives to take away. I think we are all aware of our defensive frailties over the journey. A clean sheet is a good start, lets wait and see what happens going forward. Also, not disagreeing with a lot of players that have gone backwards under JVS, but in fairness for every Ramsay you have a Mooy, Redmayne a Fornaroli etc.
  16. FWIW Rose played 34 passes at 76.5 for the game, comparable to the others. Also had by far the most tackles and clearances of the defence. I know stats dont say everything, but its an indication.
  17. That's not the point he was getting at at all.
  18. Admitting you made a mistake is a bit different to saying you're not up to it...
  19. Rojas came off injured in NZ friendly v Mexico last night...
  20. Interesting talk of scapegoats across the forum, all the guys i watched with thought Josh Rose was absolutely terrific, backpass not withstanding. They constantly attacked his side and time after time he repelled the attack. Obviously made one bad error. As for the sending off, not a red for mine. Arm was below his head, behind and imo in as a natural a position as you can expect when going to ground like that, coupled with the fact it was point blank and impossible to react to. Probably a yellow and foul, but red way too harsh. I found it hard to split Rose, Brattan and Kamau for man of the match. Brattan was unbelievable and has to be a shout for the JW Medal. Pumped for the derby, i reckon we'll even go in as favourites.
  21. Great initiative! In before someone complains about not getting the discount...
