  1. Thank you for this thread. Some beautiful pictures and videos!
  2. Seems to be a bid from a 3 man consortium who are all involved with the club already. Primo Smallgoods boss Paul Lederer, Pirtek founder Peter Duncan and a 'mystery' Chinese businessman.. As for a time frime, "there is a chance the deal could be completed as early as March but if the FFA is not satisfied with the arrangement, a sale may be held off until the end of the season." Hi all haven't been here in a while, but saw the need for thought so I'm happy to oblige. All in all, a three group consortium is good news for us, not bad in any stretch, so I'm happy with this personally Lederer is on the board at the moment, as well as sponsoring the club through Primo. His wealth is approx $630 million, obviously we won't be able to tap into all that but he is a football and a supporter, was before he even had a stake, and this is when he had a hand in the Mariners. The Chinese business can't be bad. He won't have full control over the club seeing as its a three group consortium, he should have money and highlights how there is international interest in the club. Could begin a good relationship overseas. With the Pirtek guy, I'll weigh into this as both an Eels and Wanderers fan. With the Eels, many people on the outside saw a man who kept trying to meddle in the club, change things, meddle with the board and eventually left halfway through a season. As an Eels fan Duncan from Pirtek had his hand in the eels largely trying to save the club from extinction. He kept trying to meddle with the board because at the eels, the board needs to go. Far far away. It has destroyed anything the club has left, identity is the last, and that might go if we move to ANZ. He fixed up Jarryd Hayne when he started to go a bit off the rails, kicked some board members back into place and kicked the arses of anything in the board who was fucking up. He stuck with the eels when they were having some shocking off and on the field dramas. So bad that we wouldn't have even got a sponsor at all if Pirtek left. Eventually Duncan had enough, didn't want his brand tarnished anymore, and sponsored the stadium, just to keep his name in the local economy he bases himself out of. He sponsors the WSW now, has a Wandergoals scheme, any goal is $1000 toward a charity (http://www.footballaustralia.com.au/wswanderersfc/news-display/Pirtek-Wander-Goals-help-Neurodegenerative-Disorders/77297) and tries to shoot as much as he can into the local economy (through stadium and funding on matchdays). The fact he'd like to own the club is a good sign, In my opinion. All in all I'm happy with the sale. Stable (it seems) and will provide a good base for us to move forward as a club
  3. The only reason there is hype is because there is a reason for it. If you did what we did the media would wank over your boys in your first season... - no offence to Yarraside, but don't turn into the cove. give credit where credit is due.. There's your credibility gone... What a stupid comment...you were in WA, as a kid. You didn't see what actually happened to the Northern Spirit's administration thank's to rangers. Now sure a bandwagon was dismantled. but hey, shit happened, there were heaps of teams in sydney and they destroyed each other for many reasons. Terrible comparison. I respect Yarraside, hell I'm actually from melbourne, I know some guys who work for the club, play for the club and support. But for the love of god don't turn into those dickweed certain cove forumites who rag on western sydney fans simply because 'they are over the hype'. There is hype for a reason.
  4. The guys that sit next to the away bay are fucking idiots and should be banned...they are just lads that want to fight everyone. They are nothing.. But if the Nek Minnut Crew sticks I will happily call them the NMC... and the CPC is the Corner Post Crew. Bay 62 next to the corner flag. Dishes out shit to players taking corners..all in jest though..
  5. As far as we know, the Western Front wanted to be the active support, pissed off the 20 of em didn't get a shoe in, and just posted random shit about fanshare and aligning with many other clubs including an adorable paint drawing of a logo aligning GC fans with WS fans. Pretty much there are a few subgroups within the fans that actually attend the game, the RBB of course, CPC, WEM, but they all work together, the Western Front on the other hand? I have no idea. their grand glorious statements before the club was announced made the Western Sydney fanbase look like fucking idiots apparently signing all these deals with supporters, but haven;t done anything in a while.
  6. These really are some interesting answers. And as for the turncoats debate, we aren't accusing you, but you'll find the ones that did support sfc in anyway before WSW would be similar to some of your stories... There is this idea that has arisen that the core of the RBB came straight from within the inner sanctum of the cove. Which is not true. I'm sure some supported more than others, but there is almost 200 others that didn't... These answers i find very interesting simply because it helps my argument to my mates that Melbourne is the sporting capital of Australia - something I take out of the fact I was born in your wonderful city. Gotta support my roots...
  7. They are all NRL security. We get the shits with them too. They don't understand but they will learn as the season goes on.
  8. I agree. Luna Park Sydney is a shithole. The Bush Beast was awesome. That was the ride I had the best memories on. Still a wet and wild is better than nothing as you say...
  9. Where Wonderland used to be they are opening a Wet and Wild.
  10. A guy was arrested from our pub post match. A group of 5 riot squad police were walking around and escorted one individual out EDIT: The guy in the shorts you had a photo up of....
  11. The hatamoto guys in our bay were in our bay acting innocent, except the fucking great big headsets they had on
  12. Can confirm that those arrested are going on 5 year or life bans
  13. In the last few years they fixed up parra heaps so its a nice area.
