Yep, a midfield with no experience. Just what we need right now. Sure, I'm all for 'the Yoof Policy', but it needs to be balanced properly. That starting 11 is pretty weak if you ask me, and would be setting the squad up for a significant loss. Yes because the older players we have playing have done a sterling job. How anyone can have Patrick Gerhardt in their side is beyond me. He is a liability. Play the kids. In every line there is experience. It's a bit skewed to youth but has experienced filtered through it. The position we are in now is dire. We need to win 10 out of 15 games to play finals you would say. Not impossible but close enough. Restore some ethics and pride in the shirt, play these kids for next season. An eye for next season. Too many of the senior players won't be with us next year. After a winless start what's the point of them? My mindset is for next season. Club has blown this season. If the change of manager happened when it should have then maybe we play for the finals and shaking it up. Too long gone now. Let's play to win the 2014/2015 competition. Having a young core with good experience will be vital. It's not like all these kids can't play. All have been impressive. Give them a chance to develop. No better way than playing week in week out. I remember reading somewhere the reason they dont was because they want it to be as close to the offices and the 'base' as they can and if they were going to find a permanent training ground they want it all to be together.

The sessions aren't closed. And there aren't many suitable venues in or near the city. Epping Stadium is very well taken care of, and I imagine is cheap for the club to hire while LaTrobe gets sorted out. I think you'll find that the issue with AAMI Park is that it is expensive, and, IIRC, we don't actually have much of a foothold there. The other tenants got in before we were born and took the available rooms etc. I might be wrong on this, and would welcome further information. Victory is based there. Although it will be interesting if we are bought out by the owners of the storm who are also based at aami park so really it would make sense for us to take over from Victory and kick them out on their asses But I am sure they have signed a long long lease.

Redders is fine if he is allowed to pass out from the back. It was clear under JA this season that he has been told to knock it long every time he gets it. Exactly, but what you will find is it wasn't that Redmayne was instructed to do this constantly, he was forced to do this because of the lack of structure in our midfield. And what you will also find is that our midfielders under jvs will actually be encouraged to present as options to pass to for our defenders, thereby not forcing our defenders to pass back to Redmayne. Which led to other teams then pressing us high and giving Redmayne no option but to go long. I also suspected this is the reason why Weilaert didnt pass out of defence much so far. I hope JVS has Migliorini and Kalmar fight it out for the spot each week and same with Mass and Retre. In fact I hope JVS has the youth team and the senior team train together like they used too.

I've been to training occasionally in the past, and this was the first session I've ever been to where, I'm pretty sure, we had a full squad able to train. I was surprised to see Engelaar do more than running, and Germano was also on lighter training, but training nonetheless. Was Tom Reddin sacked as our fitness guy? He's been replaced and suddenly we're almost injury free!
