  1. Well said Shahanga. I know that you and I respectfully disagree on what we will accept (or reject), but I think your analysis is close, if not right on, the mark. I also hope very much that you and others will stick around for the future, albeit with perhaps less passion. Out of curiosity, do you two think, with time, will you go back to how you felt pre-takeover? Perhaps in a few years or so?
  2. Do you feel the same about the YSIDE City of Melbourne flag? Didn't even know that was the City of Melbourne flag until I was told by someone. Same thing with the whale isn't it? No, because that's the Melbourne flag. If they're just taking one element (that most Melbournians probably wouldn't understand) from it to create some kind of connection to Melbourne, it's stupid. That's fine then, but for some reason I can't really see the whole flag being used, even though it is somewhat of an obvious thing to do. Actually interested to see what they come up with if it's the whole flag. Actually I'm interested to see what they come up with either way. Pls leak it sheik. Id say they will try and put as much 'Melbourne' in it as they can. Not only in the logo but other things as well, since we will end up with sky blue/white home. So they are probably going to make a real effort in bringing in other 'melbourne' themed things into the club. If this is the case they should use the old afl clubs logos and current Melbourne Cricket club logos as a sort of template. A logo like that with MCFC would be great imo. Then they migh use the Melbourne flag behind that and there is your red in the logo? Why would we want emulate anything the MCC does? What next? We turn The Melbourne Club into our Pre Game Pub? Only used the MCC logo as an example. Plenty of AFL clubs have also used that style of logo as well.

  4. Ahhh that explains why Simone ripamonti posted a photo from Dubai at some high performance centre on twitter
  5. http://www.theherald.com.au/story/2268058/jet-connor-chapman-feels-tug-of-heart/?cs=12 https://twitter.com/TheWorldGame/status/464221790512771073 Some nice wheeling and dealing from Heart. We seem to be the only A-League club to rather regularly use sell-on clauses (although previously we pretty much used them when we sold players on). Now that the club doesn't have to worry about finances, we can readily offer other A-League clubs sell on clauses (our reputation for being able to develop youth and sell players overseas, like Good, Hamill, Babalj and Behich probably helps here as well). It's arguably as good as a transfer fee (which aren't allowed in the A-League), so it's some pretty smart business to obtain a good player that Jets supporters are already lamenting the loss of. Good work JD then?
  6. thread is going to descend to this... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gKKbuIw_QbU
  7. Water polo. Might want to check out those old roy and hg clips from the 2000 olympics before you try that out.
  8. I can confirm that this statement is true. Sarcasm or no? Genuinely can't tell.
  9. I bet you turn out to be right. Although I am pissed off about June
  10. You're about 5 months too late on aloisi mate
  11. He is quite obviously referring to the whole Melbourne flag being used in the design of the logo not just the whale....
  12. serenity now, insanity later
  13. looks pretty tanned here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pKN_baFI44Q
  14. That probably coincides with the point he made on the studs up blog this week. When he said there is a small window now to make announcements before the world cup, then there is after the world cup.
  15. and only 32, could be with us for years.
  16. Best described as the "Cardiff Option". Would make a mockery of the statement at the fans forum "that they didn't want to do a Cardiff". I think we have disagreed with the colour situation throughout this. But I have to agree with you there. Id love to hear their explanations to how its not a Cardiff situation if we ever got the chance to get any and if it indeed happens this way.
  17. Retirement age way above 70 where he works eh? It seems the most logical decision as thats what Man city does with its away kits, uses the 'traditional' colours of the club JD is not as old as you might have thought. I think he's 39. Hard life? Actually, he is only 36. I was was off what I first thought
  18. Seems a little small (the amount) but I guess it goes along with the not a big name player, but a big game player?

  20. I don't really see why Westpac would be pulling out. Wasn't it at the beginning of last season that they extended their arrangement with us as "Principal Partner"? And aren't they the people behind our community football festivals? Also dont think Westpac would mind being 'partners' with Etihad, the cfg would probably like to keep them on too as a 'link' back to the old heart. Oh and local knowledge never hurts
  21. do you have any news on when they will be announcing all this stuff? Tbh I dont really mind if they do change the colours and think any opinion that says that it wont be the same club, it will be a new club is just a personal reflection of how a single person feels towards the club. But I would be shocked if they did't put forward a few ideas of changes in regards to the home kit, away kit, logo etc and then negotiated a compromise, even if in every outcome they put forward was a change to sky blue and white for the home kit. But even so, ill declare id still be a member/sth what ever you want to call it.
  22. hahahahahahah funniest post in a very long time and i dont even know why! no joke....players name is ricky castro Yes we established that. hahahah need to post that picture again
  23. Well so far the ones that seem to be happening have all been young players in different positions. Id say the City people think they can develop them a hell of a lot better than the previous admin.
  24. Well spotted! Would guess you are right. IIRC a while ago I saw a post on twitter where someone had spotted the Melbourne Heart youtube account following the MCFC youtube account. The tweet was posted a couple of months before the takeover. On the other hand, people also noticed recently that Messi had started following City on Instagram, yet I'm far from convinced...We shall see, though. Out of interest, I know I've seen people saying that they want Westpac to remain, but if Heart were to keep the red and white but change to Etihad, what would your feelings all be? And what if Westpac were to switch to being one of those back-of-shirt sponsors you all have over there? I'd like to keep Westpac as a sponsor in one way or another as they've been with us from the start. Not fussed about Etihad, as long as we don't have to play at the stadium. Keeping the colours is more important to me than who's the sponsor. There is the red on the home kit
