  1. Thank you to all the supporters for coming to watch us play today. It was great to see you there and we hope you enjoyed the match. We will do our best to bring two victories home tomorrow, but we need your help! During tomorrow's games, make sure you make a lot of noise! Especially againt the St. Albans Strikers, it will make a huge difference! Chants, flags and scarves are more than welcome, but keep it clean! No swearing, no flares, no violence! Go Heart!
  2. I am sure it will be release before match day, but I can't confirm the exact date.
  3. I can't release too much information at this stage. All I can say is that the squad looks very solid with lots of local and imported talent. We want to be as competitive as possible, however, as John Didulica mentioned in a recent interview "it’s still baby steps at every level for us". This year will be a learning curve for us and that's why we need as many supporters as possible to stay behind our team.

  6. Cobras Futsal Club and Melbourne Heart FC have teamed up to create an exciting new senior men’s team who will play in this year’s National F-League. Although only 2 years old, Melbourne Heart FC shows a firm commitment to growing the club into a total football club. Cobras Futsal Club started 6 years ago and is one of the pioneer clubs in the Melbourne Futsal League. Cobras boast having the largest number of FFV registered participants, teams in the MFL and State representative players in 2011. Cobras Futsal Club’s core existence is the development of Futsal players and promoting of the sport Futsal. Cobras Futsal Club endeavours best club practise and organised a trip to Spain in 2011 for its players to train and play with the best in the world. The partnership between Melbourne Heart FC and Cobras Futsal Club intends venturing Futsal in Australia to the next level. It is the policy of both clubs to embrace the general community without prejudice. This is why we are holding trials for this year’s Futsal team. During the trials we will be looking for players who are capable of playing Futsal at the highest level. Games will be conducted with full international rules and court size which is very different to social Futsal currently played around Melbourne. We recognise that there is not much knowledge of how the game is played nor are there many competitions which replicate the game as it is played at the highest level. We are therefore offering to teach talented players in the right environment. LINKS Cobras Futsal Club Melbourne Heart Futsal - Trials Registration Form To make the most of your trial we will be looking for the following: Futsal Technique - Players must show good touch and the ability to control and move the ball in a Futsal way Awareness and Decision Making - Futsal is a team sport and players must be able to use and help their team mates Fast Combination Passing is the Key to Breaking Down Organised Defences. Players must be able to pass and move intelligently Finishing - All players must be confident in shooting at goal when the opportunity arises Defending - All players must defend when their team loses the ball. The main points about defence are: All players behind the line of the ball Ball carrier must be put under pressure so that they cannot pass to dangerous areas Second defender must cover for first but also be mindful of his own man Goalkeepers - Must show good reflexes, be willing to come off their line, be good with the ball at their feet. Shot stopping techniques are also important and very little diving. Most shots are also stopped with the feet and therefore must have the ability and flexibility to do this Where: Mullauna Secondary College Sports Centre, 42 Tirana Street, Mitcham When: Sunday 22nd April from 2:30pm onwards. Exact time will be advised via email What to Bring: Playing attire, long socks, shin guards, Photo ID, Futsal shoes (non marking shoes) LINKS Cobras Futsal Club Melbourne Heart Futsal - Trials Registration Form
  7. Hi Tesla, I can confirm that the St Albans Strikers is a good team! Either way, what I think people are rating is not the League itself, but what the League can do for this sport in Australia. Keep in mind that during the recently ended 2012 AFC Futsal Championship Qualifications, Australia only barely managed to pass the turn playing against countries like Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam.
  8. =6173&tx_ttnews[backPid]=389&cHash=c3f435a072"]http://www.footballnsw.com.au/index.php?id=17&tx_ttnews[tt_news]=6173&tx_ttnews[backPid]=389&cHash=c3f435a072 I can confirm that we are looking into the option of having some sort of FUTSAL-specific membership. With this said, all games (and training session) will be free to watch for anyone. Details are currently being finalised and will be announced as soon as feasible...
  9. It will start as a completely separate initiative, however we cannot exclude that current Melbourne Heart players might be involved. More information and dates for trials will be announced in the next few weeks
  10. moops you are exactly right. Around the world, FUTSAL is often used exactly for this reason. Many famous players have started with FUTSAL when they were kids and still play FUTSAL during their off season
  11. 21 Jump Street (Movies) and American Pie II (TV)
  12. Ahaha... Good try but wrong... P.S. Dear malloy, I really don't think changing the font size is required...
  13. Guys, this is a huge deal and it has taken months to make it fly. More information will be released in the next few weeks but what I can tell you is that Melbourne Heart has done what nobody else has ever done before in this region. This is only the beginning.
