  1. Not sure if it’s been brought up yet but huge honourable mention to Craig Noone for that clearance off the line. Had we conceded first against a very good Perth team, away from home, I would be willing to bet we would have lost that game. Up the City Boys

  2. Did some one from Brisbane beat up Matt McIndoe when he was a kid? week after week we hear various ridiculous statements like “they are the worst team in the league” “coach has been found out” rave rave rave. (Found out what? How to win games?) Whilst they are shit to watch, any objective analysis would note they’ve been very effective over about the last 10 weeks which is why they’ve climbed to 5th (making our victory over them even more valuable). If you want a soft target to slag , there are more obvious choices. (Did anyone say “pissant town”?)

  3. I am very much enjoying the late career renaissance of Griffiths the Centre-Half. Regardless of the performance of his replacement this week I'd be slotting him right back in.

  5. My opinion is noone cops a bit of a rough time on here, yes he hasn’t been the superstar we’d hoped after lighting up preseason but he has been a 6/10 player week in week out. Has been smart with the ball and seems to always be positioned in a good spot also gave Elrich a bath so much that he was subbed at halftime

  6. A couple of changes for this one. Another must-win game against an inconsistent yet still pretty potent team. We've finally had consistency with our starting XI but frustratingly that will have to change after Griffiths and Luna picked up their 5th yellow card. Atkinson, Susaeta, Berenguer and I think Maclaren also had what looked to be cramp after a huge effort in trying conditions, so they should all be right even with a six-day turnaround with travel. I think the changes are pretty straightforward. Delbridge gets to play in his preferred position and Metcalfe gets back into the XI, probably ahead of Genreau, unless Mombaerts wants to try Susaeta in the middle again and bring in Wales on the wing instead. I'm hoping he keeps it simple and just makes the two swaps. Glover Atkinson Delbridge Good Jamieson Metcalfe Brillante Berenguer Susaeta Maclaren Noone

  7. TTIM: Gross over-reaction to the coronavirus. 18 infections in Victoria and the Premier is threatening to lock down the whole State? Let people get on with their lives. So some people will be infected, and a small percentage will die - just like they do from any other virus. Death is part of life, inevitable for every one of us. I don't want to live the rest of my life locked down because someone has a sniffle somewhere.

  8. This is just the sort of game that we've regularly lost, even this season - a heroic performance has been followed by an abject performance when we've been expected to win. This is a must win game for us

  9. Same, but he did play Delbribge as a striker. So anything is possible, but playing Wales as a Luna replacement from my ignorant eyes is just unexplainable. It will show alot about Warmfarts in who starts in the middle.

  10. Bit annoyed at this fixture as it will fall on the celebration of our 80th birthdays for me and Mrs Johnno so will miss the game but will try to keep up with the scores on my phone if possible. COYCB.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  12. I think if it is was a hamstring they would’ve taken him off whereas cramp can be played through. Could happen. Wales has actually played centrally this season back in Round 2 but Mombaerts hasn’t used him there again. It’s the closest like for like. I think both Metcalfe and Genreau are decent on the defensive side, just not as quick or explosive as Wales. But it’s the creativity that I worry about with Wales centrally. Might be too risky trying him there when he’s not used to it.

  13. Absolutely, you cant break up that GG partnership now. I also reckon Delboy has gone down a few rungs in Mombaerts eyes given the red cards etc

  14. I think he's a very good footballer, but not quite a game changer or a player who generates numbers. He finds nice pockets of space and is very intelligent on and off the ball. With some more productive, direct players in the final third (ie. not Craig Noone) alongside him he could be quite damaging. If we can get an explosive, impact type on the other wing then I'd be very interested in keeping him as a non-marquee player.

  15. Don't think we should be too harsh on individuals when the boys have come back from Perth with the three points. We've beaten Perth only 8 times in 10 seasons. It's a team game, and players are going to show ups and downs. Jamo has been bagged incessantly on here but he came up with two assists. Berenguer came up with a Bruno-esque goal, and Susaeta quietened his critics with a lovely run and goal. On the other side of the ledger Luna has received plenty of praise in recent weeks but missed an absolute sitter that could have made it 4-2. So it's swings and roundabouts.

  20. Tough win. Worrying that we were so defensive in the second half after a really clinical first half. Not sure if that was the instruction or whether we were being reactive but it’s a concern because we are unable to close out games comfortably. Strange subs too. Delbridge was ordinary, so was Wales. Glover was special. His finest game for us. One of those saves was incredible. I dedicate this win to Andy Harper. His bias against us was on show in that second half.

  21. TTIM: Robbie Kruse. Unless he has a severe inner ear infection he shouldn't be constantly falling over under minimal contact and the tards have the audacity to criticize Bruno at every opportunity
