  1. Has anybody thought about the idea to report Warren Joyce to the immigration department? Surely there is a breach with his working visa; Current employment activities are not considered skillful The employer has not attempted to source locally and failing to do proper due diligence Role is negatively impacting Australian economy

  2. Fully understand. I've given this club my money since day one. I simply cannot walk away from it now regardless what happens. And no club will persuade me to switch even if the stadium was built across the road from me. There is no doubt CFG is not making City appealing and even scaring away what we already, but I still have hope (only just) things will turn for the better of this club whether it takes 1 year or 10 years. Doubt many share the same feeling as me which is understandable, so CFG better act sooner rather than later otherwise this club will simply cease to exist.

  3. This shit thing as well is that with so much expectation pre-season and at the beginning of the season, then when it starts it all turns to shit, then having to endure a long wait till the next season....and then this all repeats itself.

  4. I suppose I’m still in but my enthusiasm for the club and the league more generally has been waning for a while now. I find the league stale and boring and our team especially so. I was optimistic before this season as I thought our squad was one of the best ever assembled but that was misplaced. We’re full of hard working, vanilla footballers and we’ve isolated our only marketable player and striker. We’re led by a stubborn, uninspiring Englishman whose approach to football belongs in the last century. Our owners are frustratingly inscrutable and I can’t shake the nagging feeling that we now exist as a PR exercise and a small, money making venture. It’s clear that we’ve got ambitions in a revamped league because we’ve taken a big role in this congress reform and will probably have an even bigger role in an independent league. But will CFG splash the cash and buy us success domestically and continentally? Will they keep farming out our good, young talent? Will they be a little more transparent? How many fans will leave for Team 11? A lot of questions and a lot of frustration.

  5. I think what is also a massive caveat that we always forget is the uniquely hardness of our pitches. Exclude La Rocca and Malik but if you look at De Laet O'halloran and Berenguer all apparently soft tissue (it's my assumption based on no impact breaks/tears). That every season these visa players break down. It's not until the second season if they last before they play consistently week in week out. Exceptions in their first seasons were Bruno and Bart which in itself tells you a little about their resilience. It does my head in every season the same shit.

  6. If in 5 years the club only has one member, that one member will be me. Stick with your team through thick and thin!

  7. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion , but I personally think this thread is silly. Do you support the club or the manager? I'll attend games even is Aloisi is the coach again. Having said that, anyone on this forum who will genuinely leave City for Team 11?

  8. I am actually not worried about Bruno being dropped. Since his injury he hasn't had the mobility or fluidity that he once had and his confidence is very low. What does annoy me is: A. The lack of proper communication and B. The lack of decent wingers and/or a backup striker and C. The continued failure to have a competent and consistent team. Losing MOH has been a big problem but, for heaven's sake, the team should not be about one player.

  9. Wel as i said on the 1st of this month, we are now no longer members as we have officialy resigned our memberships as of today. We are both tired of watching crap football and having to pay for the privilege of watching so called football which my wife describes as more boring than watching paint dry, this is quite apart from the crap we are getting from Joyce's selections and the excuses we get about players being dropped. We wish everyone on here a very merry Christmas and a safe and Happy new year.

  10. Seriously, this is the bit that drives people mad. The Tards were busy recruiting Toivonen and Honda and Joyce decides into the season to freeze Bruno and now we have no recognised striker. And we have no quality attacking midfielder. FMD if that’s not the mad work of a second rate man manager.

  11. Fuck it shits me that even if we have a great Jan transfer and look stronger for the future that we will be so far down the ladder on current form and the damage from all the fallout will render this season wasted. Fucking Joyce. 5 months offseason. Does shit all - then another offseason before we can capitalise (or fail to if our history has set the precedent).

  12. THIS I've put up with this shit club for 7 years, but at least it's my shit club. Managers and players will come and go but I won't stop supporting this club until it ceases to exist.

  13. If you resign your membership because you no longer wish to go to matches or for a physical reason such as permanently moving away etc., then that seems OK to me. But to do it as some form of protest IMO is rather like cutting off your nose to spite your face - neither the club nor CFG will care at all. Only one thing will unnerve our owners, and that will be consistent and loud adverse comment in the media. And in Australia I think that to be unlikely, simply because the media barely cares about football in the first place.

  15. Would lol. But really, Joyce will ship out Caceras and then get Bacchus and since we only pass backwards and sideways. Joyce will then play in a formation where we face our own goal so that we go forwards. Simples

  17. What I said is a bit ironic since I'm not a member right now haha. But if the club has an overseas deal like they had in the past I would have splashed the cash

  18. No way would Baccus be approved as a marquee. Nor would anyone else currently on City's books. And, TBH, I can't recall any marquee player being replaced by another one mid-season.

  19. According to https://www.fifatms.com/itms/worldwide-transfer-windows-calendar/ 3rd January 2019 to 31st January 2019. Mid-season rather than "winter."

  20. My understanding: Marquee: Can be Australian or overseas player. Two allowed per club. Paid by club. Must be approved by FFA. Examples: Fornaroli, De Laet. Full Season Guest Marquee: Can be Australian or overseas player. Must be approved by FFA. Part paid by FFA or sponsor (such as Fox Sports), and part paid by club as negotiated. Limited by funds available to FFA . Examples: Cahill, Honda. This is a relatively new venture, and so far there have been only two and only one per season. Guest player: Allowed to play 14 matches. Must be approved by FFA. Limited to one per club. Paid by club. Example: David Villa (four matches). All the above sit outside the salary cap. However, marquees sit inside the numbers cap and the limit on 5 visa players. Pretty sure that the Full Season Guest marquee and Guest players sit outside the numbers cap and limit on visa players.

  21. Hmmmm all very interesting............. #JOYCEOUT Might i add that Joyce is a dick that has ruined for me this very anticipated season, and can i also add that #JOYCEOUT should be chanted at the derby for 90mins. Its not longer about anything else for me as i have an axe to grind about this whole club not moving on this muppet earlier. Joyce out might actually help my sanity and when interested on lookers ask how Melb City are going i wont blurt out a satanic sounded language they dont understand.

  22. Originally, a marquee was a player with an ability to draw attention to the A-League ex-star players, eg Yorke, Fowler, Del Piero, Heskey etc. Now as A-League clubs and the FFA can't compete with the MLS, CSL, and J- League to draw big-name ex-star players (Honda being the exception) , the marquee rule is now a loophole to get players who can't fit into the salary cap.

  23. Every season we've had this problem. It effects the other A League teams also.

  24. Agree would take him. Did he play as a striker at NJ? Because when played in the NT he hasn't been too special. If he did sign him, he would end up getting benched after scoring another outside of the foot curler!

  27. If Team 11 gets in I'll buy a membership and hopefully attend most home games. I haven't had been a member since the Heart days and have only been to half a dozen City games since the takeover. For me Casey Fields is about an hour by car, getting to AAMI park is generally double that if you're lucky. Having been involved in a fair bit with Team 11 through my club I think they're going about it the right way, getting people involved from clubs who devote their time to the game already, these are the people who have the pull with the parents of juniors at their club, this is where the long term future support lies. Also having Matt Windley on board is their Ace in the Hole for the future, they guy is extremely approachable and genuinely passionate and informed about the game and people feed off that and take that back to their clubs. Other than the City Cup for juniors I don't think I've received any correspondence from Melbourne City about doing anything with my club, whilst Melbourne Victory have got back on the front foot the last 18 months and are constantly sending out information and opportunities. This is a big loss compared to what Heart used to do, especially with Clint Bolton and Lousia Bisby getting out to clubs constantly.

  28. Ok bit of a personal rant on the back of your question. I for one am very traditional in having loyalty to one club no matter what. Ehat I value is supporting a club that has a geographical meaning or a particular personal connection to me. Melbourne City certainly doesn't tick those boxes. However I've made friends through the club and it has been a way for my entire family to stay more connected. Beside the point, so far City has, at least on the surface, somewhat made me feel connected to the players and the vibe of being 'a club.' However this connection is dwindling and the more CFG continue to make it feel like a corporation than a football club the more I find reason to not support them. And if I get to the point where City continues to create a corporate business feel than a football club feel ill have no qualms in leaving. The club isn't there yet but this path they're on is making it feel like it's not too far down the track. To answer your question Team 11 would provide a geographical connection to myself having grown up in the east. I don't know whether I would ever become a member but I'd certainly go to games should my membership with City end.

  29. I think Miller was an international player replacement, he was replacing Mooy - if my memory serves me correct. If Joyce makes Baccus marquee than all is solved and he can play both.

  30. I think we can add Osama Malik aged 28, and if we want to go further we can add Bruno Fornaroli aged 31. Joyce is acting like a wrecking ball. If the club's senior management and CFG can't see this then we really are in desperate trouble. There's no way we can win anything if we have so many senior players unavailable.

  32. We’re lurching from one crisis to another. Almost certainly self inflicted. We should be in a period of stability where we pickup points and prepare for the run home in the second half of the season. Well not us. We train the crap out of all codgers and start humiliating Bruno with talk of lack of commitment. Commitment! He’s been the most committed player ever to put on our shirt but Joyce now has decided that he wants Bruno out or is keen to show the troops who’s da boss man. Go figure. Season rapidly on life support with this carry on.

  33. For me the evidence that they will spend is that they are positioning themselves to control the game in Australia. Two of the four elected to the new board of the FFA were CFG backed and one is the chairman. We also have Didulica in charge at the PFA. I largely see the non-spending as CFG pushing a point with the former FFA board regarding that if they don't get benefits then the league won't get the benefits of having CFG invested in a team. That being said if it is true I hate the club being used so overtly as a political tool when it far from aligns with what we want from the club. We of course already are a political tool for the Sheik, but the overall vision of what CFG wants for its club's i.e. attractive football and competitive is not dissimilar to what many of us want from Melbourne City. Also throw into the mix Australia's best talent coming through our ranks (albeit that it shouldn't be at the expense of the success of the club).

  35. What's supposed to be a joy, has turned into nightmare. It's simply not sustainable over the longer period. The club can't exist like this despite the foreign rich owner.

  36. Im not sure if i mentioned it on here Johnno but i actually got in touch with memberships and told them to cancel the auto renewel for next season, actually thinking that maybe ditching the memberships and just buying a ticket if i want to go. Would be a lot cheaper that buying a membership and not going to games because the manager is rubbish.

  37. I really wish people in this forum (and the wider City fanbase in general) would stop holding their memberships to ransom.

  39. Ninth season. Too late to pull out now. This is our club, not Joyce's. Pro-rata I've put more into this club than Joyce or Mansour. This is where we have to make a stand.

  42. I sent a long rambling email, cancelling my membership, explaining that I was positive about the take over originally, as I thought Heart's days were numbered. But then said we really are run like a franchise so how can anyone support such a thing, where the local management team seem to be on a tight leash. I also suggested that they really fucked up (not in those words) the home kit. Had a real opportunity to make something unique for us but still enough for the CFG ownership to be recognized. Then reittereated that that happened because we really seem like just a franchise. I did say I felt a bit strange that it was Bruno that finally broke the camels back as there is no 'I' in team. But explained that for years I was waiting to have a Thompson, Broich, Isasis type player who became the embodiment of the club and we finally had it and now on top of the terrible football (something that the CFG originally promised the opposite) they are pushing out the door by a manager who just got the job because he was the mate of one of the higher ups at CFG. Then said stop acting like a football club is a business or a company, its not that and shouldn't be run as such. and hoped that my small gesture here would be mimicked by others so the club could finally wake up. Anyway, wont ever support another Aleague club (I still support Fitzroy ffs) but yeah, couldn't do it. Oh and it might seem petty but not having a pin this year in the membership really really annoyed me for some reason haha
