  3. Best part was when he was talking about the time he first got the the club. Was loled when he was talking people saying saying g'day, to him and then describing aussie talk as not being normal english.

  8. He states 'the' first game and not 'our' first game denoting that the things (home or away) are assumed to be common knowledge. If he said previously that he recognises 'our' first home as 'the' first game then the use of 'the' here is apt and I withdraw my argument. If however he has previously used the word 'the' then at the time I am right because it isn't common knowledge of his intended meaning based on the grammar utilised by bt50.

  12. Just so everyone remembers what was said by Marwood pre-World Cup. Melb City will keep Arzani in A-League Published: 03:23 EDT, 19 April 2018 | Updated: 03:23 EDT, 19 April 2018 Australian soccer's next big thing should be staying in the A-League next season, with Melbourne City heavyweights believing their club is the right place for Daniel Arzani to flourish. City Football Group executive Brian Marwood, in Melbourne for the club's elimination final with Brisbane Roar, has assessed the many options available to the 19-year-old talent. With English Premier League winners Manchester City, five other clubs under the group's umbrella and various loan partnerships open to Arzani, Marwood believes he's already in the right place to continue his stunning development. "It's safe to assume he'll be here next year," Marwood told AAP. "We have no intention of selling. "What he needs is games. He needs games in a competitive environment. "Like many young players that have left Australia, they've gone and they've very quickly come back. "Right now, it's going to be incredibly unhelpful for him if he goes somewhere and doesn't play. "To stay here and get those games under his belt, to continue to learn in a good environment, I genuinely believe that is the right thing for him."

  13. Fwiw i was referring to the first home game. To my knowledge the club delays the order as long as possible so they can order them in bulk and save on costs and administrative time. For example its easier, cheaper and quicker for them to wait until they have 5,000 members at 1 September and do them all at once, than to send off for 2,500 members at 1 August and another 2,500 on Sep 1. Not saying thats the right approach to take at all, but thats why it happens.

  14. Question. Could this all be because maybe we have personalized membership cards?

  16. Well the way I read BT comment was that he was implying that my problem about not receiving the membership pack wasn't a big deal as long as I had it prior to round 3. Which in all practical logic makes sense, but when your a wound up winger that wants to smash some cunt doesn't wash. Receiving something 3 months after you bought it, and its less than 10k to deliver is unacceptable.

  19. Winning is one part. In my opinion, it only attracts the "on-the-fence" supporters. See Sydney as an example. For us, I think that threshold is around 10k. After that, I can't see the numbers increasing greatly even if we win the treble three seasons in a row. What does drive membership is availability. The last year I was in Melbourne, I didn't get a season membership. Why? Because there were always seats available at the game. If I wanted to rock up to a game after a big day at uni, then I would just walk over to AAMI after studying and buy a GA ticket at the gate. If it was going to be a decent game and I wanted to relax with good seats, I would buy CAT A or CAT B tickets. I only purchased the 3-game membership towards the end of the season when I knew I could get to all games and to also collect the pin. What I'm getting at is that memberships are just a dick swinging contest, who cares about them. In terms of attendance, winning trophies will only get us so far (once again see Sydney). The only true way to increase our attendance is to cut prices, simple as that. I know I am not the one financing the club so I can't make that decision, but the goal of this strategy is to and lure families to commit themselves to the club. If the young kids love going to games, then the whole family will be locked in. If they stay commited to the club (another challange) then as the next generation comes along, attendance will increase exponentially. So during school holidays, Australian Open, F1 weekend etc. Offer free GA and 50% discount on CAT A/B tickets. City are on the right track with the community engagement and the pre-much stuff in Gosch's Paddock, but it's the ticket prices that are the killer. I guess some of this blame could be put on the FFA and stadium owners too. If you compare the ticket prices to other sports/teams in Melbourne, you are paying a premium to watch (realistically) not the best skill level of football

  20. They should fuck off the personalized card and introduce personal delivery. But whatever the reason which they haven't responded by the way is immaterial the fact is they asked for payment months ago (direct rollover ) and have had plenty of time to get the pact delivered in time for the season. It's just basic incompetence and brushing it off is just another example of acceptance of sub standard pratices.
