  1. Surely you're kidding? The kid was very good at RB this season and played at a high level over considerably more games than Pierias ever did. Not to mention the understanding him and Arzani seem to have on the field. For me Atkinson holds that spot round 1 next season with Pierias as the backup.

  2. Why not go back to the actual Heart away kit. White with red sash or with red and sky blue sash for something different.

  3. I think it would be good investment if Gallop and Co use the marquee fund to pay themselves out of FFA, so they can fuck off and let the game be run by people that actually have a clue. FFA are like ...

  6. I've had this really bad feeling that CFG are more like CBF when it comes to wanting to win with our club. I personally dont give a fuck if we have a big name "stadium filler" marquee so if the club doesn't do that, im content with what. I want to just us to win the league. BUT if we are honestly going to be here just to shoot out players like Arzani for a profit then whats the point for supporting it. Maybe thats why Victory keep winning shit and we dont. People want to win at that club from the CEO, to the cunt that cleans the toilets.

  7. The problem with VAR is the linesmen would err on the side of caution and leave the decision up to VAR so they don't flag for offsides if there's any doubt. If they flag for a decision and the player is incorrectly adjudged offside they'd get hammered by the Fox Sports commentary team and the general public. In my mind VAR has to be all or nothing. You can't have goals scored being over-ruled by VAR for being offside when you can be incorrectly called offside when in a goalscoring position by the linesman and have no ability to overturn that decision. I'd rather we get rid of it and deal with human error rather than an disparity caused by technology.

Do away with various rules such as Lampard and Caceres and we might be interested, but not until then.

  14. It was my view that “the main reason we hadn’t conceded” was that Jason Hoffman misssd his first two sitters. Anyway all good. I for one love the Manny love, who seems to be a good guy and a model pro and ultimately a bloke who got every single thing out of his ability. The would needs more Mannys.

  15. Could of done a spin off show with the amount of ranting i could of done on Newcastle. Had to hold that for 2 weeks before i could get that out. Just had to wait for the Newy fairy tale to reach its fantastic climax

  16. He was one of the main reasons we hadn't conceded in the first half and was the stand out up until that point. I think its more likely that most of you have a extreme cause of irrational hatred towards Ozzie. I think we sympathize with with him on this fact and try to talk some actual sense instead of player bash. BTW the only irrational love i had was for Manny and that has been taken away from me

  17. On youth matches - yes, in the Heart years I had a couple of seasons watching as many youth matches as I could. But where I live, CFA is just too bloody difficult to get to with the KO times they use, and at this stage of my life I'm not keen on being divorced for the sake of football. I don't like cooking and get cold at night.

  18. Given his injury history i dont think he'd risk not playing again due to a contract dispute and imo he'll go the year after no matter what, so imo we should simply hold him to his contract, or offer him a modest increase under the cap. Anything more is overkill for me. If he wants a more serious improvement on his deal it can be factored in upon a further commitment.

  19. FFA are incompetent. The big names have done nothing more than make the game a circus, and provide a blip in the numbers. Let owners build AFC quality squads without restriction. What would be better for the game here; one or two aging superstar novelty players in the entire league, or 5 or 6 quality international players (at Bart or Bruno’s level) per team, paired with the best young Australian (or overseas) talent?

  21. @jw1739 Joyce’s non use of Budzinski in the lead up to the finals is grounds for dismissal in my book. It should have been obvious that we might need to turn to him to “produce a goal from nothing” and as such he needed to be given some minutes to prepare him for that possibility. So what happens, the moment comes and he plays like a bloke who hasn’t been on the pitch for months (funnily enough). and as to the game versus Wellington it was indeed a sign that the team wasn’t where they should be and not “ an irrelevance” like some claimed (or perhaps hoped).

  22. I wouldn't profess to possess a detailed knowledge of the subject but I do have a strong interest in 'the art of the building'. Most of the subject that peaks my interest is generally steeped in history and conspicuous expressions of ideology rather than traditional movements or schools but I do desire to learn about these other areas of man's Architectural journey. I know there are some very well versed and knowledgeable fellow forumites who will lap this thread up and share some of their favourite works/individuals. Anyway, here's some of my favourites. Communist/Stalinist: Druzbha Sanatorium, Yalta, Ukraine, 1985 Soviet Roads Ministry, Tblisi, Georgia, 1975 The Soviet Central Design and Research Institute for Robotics and Technical Cybernetics, St.Petersburg(Leningrad), Russia, 1987 'Mother Fatherland' Statue, Kiev, Ukraine, 1981 'Mother of the Motherland', Volgograd, Russia, 1967 Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Moscow, Russia, 1953 Krasnye Vorota Metro Station, Moscow, Russia, 1935

  23. It's going to be hard for Joe and his team to repeat, or even go close to, what they've achieved this season. If we're going to see a sustained improvement in women's football here we're going to have to do better than a salary cap of $150,000 and a 12-match season. Those who didn't go yesterday missed out on something special that we're unlikely to see again. Four top women footballers (Little, Fishlock, Beattie and De Vanna) on the big stage. Will remain one of my best football memories.

  24. At some point I'll have to talk about my manifesto for managing growth in Melbourne's middle and outer suburbs, of which good architectual design is of paramount importance. We must design places for living, not just spaces for using.

  25. Le Corbusier's plan for the complete development of central Paris; Plan Voisin, using his conceptual 'Radiant City' theory as the basis. Communal parks, gardens and recreational spaces sit between residential apartment buildings. Raised motorways weave in between carrying people to their respective destinations. The space on top of the apartment buildings is given over to roof-top gardens, and thus the city becomes the perfect machine.
