  3. Great job guys. When I was head of the FRG, I personally enjoyed grilling Scott, and found him to be honest, and straight down the line. He really does put in his best effort for City. Honestly, if he was no good for the job of CEO, he'd be long gone as CFG only employ high quality operators in their top level administrative roles.

  5. For all of you who still pine for the good old days of Heart and still have a problem accepting the CFG takeover, just take a moment to absorb Munn's comments. They had to sell off a bunch of players without replacements, just to keep the club going. I get and appreciate the good times, bonds formed between fans, etc, etc - but listening to that confirms the future was bleak.

  7. Another great podcast. Just about the program (across all mediums including tv) i look forward to the most. Munn was a much better guest than I expected, spoke well and passionately and seemed very open.

  10. The problem I have with this way of thinking is that it separates 'good defence' from 'beautiful football'. Unless you are going to specifically set up as a broken team, then when you try to become more attacking, you just compromise the solid defence. This is exactly what has happened to us. The other problem with not qualifying for ACL is that it's a drawcard for visa players.Missing out on those visa players will slow our development

  11. Seriously I use to think the "We survived the GFC" line by ALP voters was a pretty crappy line for a government to take credit for something they only very partially helped with... This is still probably the case but there is just enough meat in that argument to now say that they were better than the current bunch. This current Turnbull Government is rudderless and pathetic - The worst Federal Government in my lifetime. At least if they had stayed with Abbott they would have kept some consistency in their message.

  12. From memory (happy to be proven wrong) it wasn't really a question we asked of him and more of a conversation around the values of the club and the style that we've tried to play over our history. He actually acknowledged we'd been a bit 'safe' and defensive, especially early on,when talking about the fan surveys. He's definitely not going to bury the coach on air but I find you normally get a pretty candid answer when you ask Scott something, unless he doesn't want to give you one and in that case he normally just doesn't answer it rather than giving you a fluffy response, which I prefer tbh Before the season i think you could view lower than 2nd as a fail, but Newcastle have been a very formidable team and in any other A-League campaign would probably be a solid chance for silverware, it's just unfortunate that you've also got the greatest men's club team in the history of the league sitting on top atm. For me, Asia should have been the non-negotiable goal, and a piece of silverware the target. Now clearly we're unlikely to get silverware but I think that given the way Sydney and Newcastle have played this season it's slightly more understandable, not to mention that there's been a period of transition at the club that I think was acknowledged as being required when Warren was appointed. To be able to make those changes on the fly and still get us into Asia would be acceptable in my opinion.

  14. My TC respect levels are plummeting every time he opens his mouth at the moment. The crap he's been spurting since he left is simply embarrassing and is only serving to make him look like a bitter, dishonest prick IMO.
