Bouzanis La Rocca Schenkeveld Jakobsen Atkinson Malik Brattan Jamieson Vidosic Arzani McCormack SUBS : Budzinski, Mauk, Muscat, Fitzgerald, Galekovic Slim chance of Bud starting over Dario but pretty confident that's how it will go6 points

Fernando Brandan started a game yesterday for Temperley vs Racing. They won 1:0 and Brandan has been credited with the assist and he played 70mins. Not bad for someone that couldn't even make a matchday squad for us.4 points

They don't because most can't and they are scared of embarrassing themselves and losing the ball ... Aziz was a player that could consistently do it ... and then there was Kuzi who thought he could, but really just did his random step overs3 points

At least Kuzi tried, if you never do something youll never get better at it. But I would see Waz at the sort of guy who would have dropped Kuzi after one game for doing it2 points

My thought always has been that Brandon was released not because he was injured, not because he wasn’t the player he used to be, but fundamentally because he wasn’t Joyce’s style of player, being a player of flair who wasn’t wonderful defensively and above all wasn’t a work horse. Now what really worries me about that is work horses don’t win you games.2 points

It seems that the new National curriculum is missing 2 chapters: movement off the ball in the front third and how to make a defence penetrating pass, and the chapter on scoring. I think that the underlying problem is mainly that U23 players just don't get enough first team football, and even when they do there just aren't enough games in a season.2 points

Warren joyce chases another great player out of the club due to his bullshit standards. Nothing new to see here1 point

Who was the fuckwit at the FFA who thought 7pm Sunday games was a good idea? I hope he's fired.1 point

I doubt that there was any payout to Brandan or to Temperley to terminate the loan. He hasn't lost any wages as far as I can see, and the story was that Temperley were happy to have him back (possibly wanted him back). I guess we'll never know the full story, but my guess is that Joyce just doesn't favour "flashy" players. So exit Brandan.1 point

The frame should be wazza talking to bouzanis "and you asshole! You're lucky to be here!"1 point

Definitely in the terms of contracts and $ it makes complete sense. But I'm looking purely on the pitch. And for me Brandan playing as a #10 is better than Budzinski Mauk or Vidosic. He definitely can't play as a wingback and is a liability in our defensive third but in this current 352 we have been playing lately, playing centrally as the AM would really suit. But I guess all this is just fluff as boat has sailed and we have what we have.1 point

23 Nov: "Fernando Brandan is in the final stages of his journey towards match fitness after fully recovering from his ACL injury." (Team news for Round 8 City vs. Perth) 18 Dec: Contract mutually terminated. 16 Jan: Plays for CA Temperley And I suppose we're still waiting for the "like-for-like" signing....1 point

Well I guess that rules out the he wasn't going to be ready to play this season theory1 point

I wonder how many people really care? There's only so much that the football public can take - eventually the hype fails to catch their interest. I'm astonished that Slowy and Gallop continue to lead FFA when there is so much to be done and yet so little ever does. Until we have a strong domestic league with better footballers providing a more exciting product more often in more places, other than a four-yearly flicker of interest in the national team no-one is going to take more than peripheral interest in the rest of football.1 point

Good work lads. Excellent summary about how some of our players are really going (BTW Malik might look like a defender, but isn’t and its hardly his fault the last 2 gaffers played him out of position for a season). Nice summary of how are leaders at the FFA are going too. Nothing to add.1 point

IMO Ross has to stay there’s no telling how many games it will take Bruno to get back to a full 90 minutes and without Ross or a fully firing Fornaroli we won’t score many goals at all!1 point

They only called him that because they were too scared to make the big call and label him what he actually is. "The Lionel Messi of the A League"1 point

Didn't really notice that overmuch. It's the actual commentary intro that starts the show ("Engelaaaaar!!!") that seems way too quiet. Likewise the equivalent for W League that you used this week. Feel churlish being critical, because I really appreciate and value what you do with the show.1 point

I will never forget him trying to be fancy with stepovers and kicking the ball out by mistake in his first game.1 point
