I miss JVS! I dont miss the lack of defensive capabilities but i do miss the attack and the fact i used to look forward to going to home games each time. Its getting harder to justify me traveling as far as i do to go to games. Dont get me wrong i do like the priority of culture over everything but at some stage he's gotta show he's a good manager. It absolutely baffles me the lack of subs made, if theres hungry kids on the bench put them on, JVS would and the willingness to park the bus. 😠 I used to say about JVS that all I wanted was a win and i didnt care about the way we played but now i'm thinking otherwise, make it entertaining for ffs. At this stage i really like the way Paul Okon goes about his business, if he's not on City's radar then shame on them. Rant over

It was rather strange, without the ball we looked like you say, but sometimes a 433? With the ball it was more 433 Mauk striker with Kamau and Fitzy wingers, but Bratten would go wide, which made Mauk drop deeper and Kamau move into the striker position. I wouldn't be surprised if the players are making it up as they go along in attack, not a case of coaching. I don't know much about Crowley, he's been scoring like mad in the youth league, as our only recognised striker, he must be pissed, especially only on a one year contract.

Tbf both strikes by Kamau were half chances he made, the first from the pass from Ross (from the long bomb from Boozanis) was his best chance, the other was a snap shot. The first chance his first touch was unreal, his finish not so much, but he is halfway there. I don't agree with Atkinson, the only mistake I saw him make was when he cut inside and made a bad pass, I think to Jacobsen? Otherwise I want him taking more guys on, not styphling him. Agree.

I agree, our decision making around shooting is poor, a well-positioned keeper usually blocks the shot. The other revealing stat is the number of goals that we've scored from a deflection, quite high percentage I'd anticipate. Again this reflects clever placement of the ball vs luck

Pretty horrible to watch that, ultra defensive kick and rush, it was the same in the second half, but Ross won more long balls than we had in the first. Atkinson and Kamau are the only players with a bit of flair with Fitzy not having his best game, Arzani should have replaced him at some point to see what he could do. Bratten really dwells on the ball at times, if he has no time he plays better, every time he has time and space he can't decide what to do and ends up killing our forward momentum, it's frustrating to watch. Positives for me were Malik had a good game, Shenkevald was his imperious self, Kamau came alive second half and tried hard and Atkinson looks a talent, has fast feet and defended quite well.

Our movement is just too slow, I think it’s that simple. Kamau & Fitzgerald made a heap of decent runs last night only for Bratten / Mauk / Jacobsen to step on the ball & play back to where the ball just came from. Our wins early in the season came on the back of our wide men being able to isolate their fullbacks & being direct & positive with the ball. At the moment the only time They receive it is when we literally have no other option.

Very concerned, but hoping that there is something going on I have missed that will make it all work out. For what it’s worth I supported JVS for years and it wasn’t until JAs disastrous 2 season that I gave up on him. oh you missed: 1 taking a genuine #10 (Mauk) and turning him into a “forward #6” 2 having one of the best playmakers in the league on the books but barely playing him when he was fit 3 taking a genuine talent in Genreau and ignoring him 4 playing a style that requires AAMI Park to employ special “fan awakeners” who go around the ground after full time rousing the thousands who are sleeping in their seats.

What would you think of JVS or JA if they were making the decisions and playing the football that Wazza has? Imagine if it was Aloisi that: 1. Removed Cahill, Brandan (and possibly John Roberts) from the club and was forced to start a derby (that we lost) with Kamau and Mauk as a front 2. 2. Conceded 11 goals in the last 6 games despite loading the midfield with centre backs. 3. Was signing another centre back in January despite already having 6 centre backs (but only 1 striker). 4. Demoted last seasons B&F from the matchday squad. 5. Won only 2 of their last 8 games.

Had a Barry Crocker last night. One of the reasons we were so poor. Hes a great defender but not a midfielder.
