  1. Ye sorry you're right it was River. Drunk. That mistake could get me killed here.

  2. Under no circumstances should Bart be moved. He has been by far our best player this year and should be the first name on the team sheet AND in his natural position. The very idea of moving him is madness you hear?

  3. I know its cool to hate on Tim in here but bad move by the club. He was better at scoring from open play than Fornaroli last season. The fans love him especially the kids, every time he came on on or ran past the crowd while on the bench he got a massive cheer. Keeps the club narrative going that Melbourne City cannot be trusted when it comes to big name signings, first Villa not hanging around now Tim. Will kill any chance of a membership boost in the future based on signing players.

  4. If this was with regards to a woman I'd say to just let her go, she's clearly not into you. Guess I'm saying the same thing.

  6. I don't believe it is actually, but you go with it if it makes you feel better. Btw, he dropped about 8kgs to get himself fit for this season. You need to be pretty lazy to do that.

  7. I was at some bar in San Miguel De Tucuman having an overpriced beer/sandwich and a Boca game was on the TV in the backround. Within about 10 minutes of watching Boca copped a goal against some team in blue and the guy who scored looked familiar... Of course it was Colazo. Continued to watch the game and he was playing like a completely different player. Confident as fuck, screaming his head off and going in hard for the ball... which he never did once at city. Got me thinking about our imports over the years and I figured out a little pattern. When you move to another country its obviously tough adjusting to the language/culture/football style however that can depend on your personality. The quiet subdued type guys like Colazo/Tadic/Koren/Budzinski seem to suffer a lot and seemly play different to how they would back home. However others have shown that their balls out attitude tends to overcome any anxiety or confidence issues that comes with a international transfer... Eg. Engelaar/Novillo/Bruno and now Bort. Conclusion being, if you're gonna sign a foreigner make sure his a bit of a cunt. Seriously. We should look into not only football ability but a blokes confidence in his day to day life. Psychologist and body language expert would be able to sort that out.

  8. Qualifying for the WC is never a disastrous campaign, especially with the current team

  9. I know that it's not a fashionable opinion amongst many but I think that its a significant loss for the team

  10. Terrible for the club, probably good for Tim. plsying up front in Wazza Ball it’s pretty thankless. Mostly you just press, with about 2 chances a game if you’re lucky. The odds of these coinciding with your 10 minutes on the field (if you’re Tim) are pretty slim. presume we will bring in another defender to replace him. #cantplaytoomanydefenders

  11. Tim "it's not about me" Cahill my thoughts on Timmy Self centered player, but you don't get to where he got by being a nice guy Did some good things for us last year, pretty much the top scorer if you take Bruno's penalties out of the equation BUT, by us taking him as the face of the A League, it hamstrung our own game the whole how do we fit Bruno and Tim into the team was a disaster, Bruno, due to a few reasons was a shadow of his former self, the fact that Timmy had to play, put us one midfielder down, and invariably it was a creative # 10 that was missing, therefore Bruno had no supply compared to his first season. What did he bring as the face of the A League? a big wage and promotion , did it send attendances sky rocketing ? NO It really didn't help boost our attendances what will I remember most ? sure he scored some important goals BUT my main memory is how he hijacked a celebration of Australia qualifying for the World Cup to push his own agenda and blame the club that has paid him his inflated wages

  12. Don't know whether to be upset or happy? I think the kids will be the biggest losers here. They loved him. But I think it's very selfish from Timmy. You are 38 ffs! Surely you didn't expect to walk into a team purely based on profile?

  17. True, but i think as evidence from his goal he is simply being played out of position. He should be moved up to right wing, and then move fitzy to rb. It sounds like a good combo to me

  21. TTIM: Why does the Australian Internet Media feel compelled every week to report a story on who they have deemed was their Q&A Audience Member of the week? It has literally become a weekly occurrence despite the winners of the award almost always saying pretty much the same thing every time.

  25. I know what you're suffering from. The French have a little allegory that goes something like this. When a Frenchman marries he places a glass lolly jar on his bedside table. Up until his first wedding anniversary, every time he gets it he puts a lolly in the jar. After the anniversary, each time he gets it he takes a lolly out of the jar. The jar never gets empty.

  27. Ill be shocked if Tongyik gets a start, La Rocca has been pretty good outside of his Brisbane debacle. Woth noting that the youth still conceded twice. In fact imo we'd be more likely to select Atkinson if we look to replace Manny without a reshuffle. I think Arzani gets minutes this week, but Kamau will start after a pretty good second half. As much as we'd all like to give the kids a crack, I'm really not sure how we fit them in given the likes of Killa aren't even in the squad.

  37. This probably belongs under the CFG thread, however, this link gives an indication of where Scott Munn fits into CFG ... https://www.cityfootballgroup.com/Our-Business/Leadership-Team It is unusual to have more than one CEO in an organisation, and I suspect that the term CEO for SM is a bit of a legacy carry over from Heart. If SM was no longer within CFG, I doubt they would replace him with a new CEO. New York FCs website references their highest ranking administrative officer as 'President', although on the CFG page linked above he is CEO of NYCFC https://www.nycfc.com/team/staff SM's role is more of a COO of MCFC (Chief Operating Officer), reporting to CFG's CEO. It is seemingly a complex business structure, and it seems the various departments in Melbourne would report up through to the different areas of CFG, so SM's role in ensuring appropriate coordination would require a high level of sophistication. But this structure would also potentially distance him from certain elements of club performance, i.e. Brian Marwood's recent involvement with the playing group and scaking of MV.
