  1. Not sure how much of this Cahill stuff i believe and how much is hyperbole, but it's certainly an unwanted distraction. At the end of the day, and i say this as one as one of Timmy’s greatest fans (hell he was the reason I started following Everton back in the mid 2000’s and he’s a legend of the Roos setup), but if he is going to try to go down this path of blackballing the club, I hope we tell him in no uncertain terms that he’ll be staying here and seeing out this season unless a transfer fee of a fair significance is met. Letting him take the money and run after last years front ended contract is an absolute no-no for me, and if no one is going to meet our required figure then he stays. If he wants to play up and cause issues because of that, he can sit on the sidelines and rot. It’s a problem solely of his own creation. And no doubt if we play hardball then the wolves in the media will come for us for hijacking Australia's world cup aspirations, but imo its incredibly important that the club stands for something and doesnt give in should that eventuate.

  2. The actives should initiate a 'Cahill is a wanker' chant with an appropriate TIFO.

  3. I can feel the opinion of the fans change today. He's set us up, he's after money, and you wouldn't put it past him to have conspired with uber flog Aloisi. Grovelling apology Tim, or train alone until you don't get picked for Russia. Quite right playmaker, drain the swamp until we've got rid of anyone pulling in another direction. If necessary play the kids. But on no account give in to this.

  6. Crazy amount of support on here for Wazza. Tbh I'm not a fan. As has been mentioned we have become quite boring to watch although defensively we do look a bit more stable. Large part of that is because or Bort and La Rocca ( yes he had a bad game the other night it happens). Brattan should've started the other night and hearing all these "rumours" about players that he doesn't rate just annoys me. Then he has his favourites. One of them being Muscat who makes me question myself as to why I can't be playing as a right back for us. Honestly no where near A-league level the bloke would struggle in the NPL hes absolutely hopeless yet Wazza loves him. #SackJoyce

  8. Heard a whisper today that Fernando could be on his way as well. We've got 6 bloody good Scholarship players - Genreau, Najjarine, Roberts and co. - who'll play their hearts out for us and the club. Rather have them than flogs like Cahill any day, even if we come bottom of the league.

  9. Drain the swamp Wazza. Start with Timmy and go down the list until you are happy. We don't need this festering cesspool of waste at our club any more.

  10. he's been through this before , held the FFA to ransom before he "agreed " to come and play in the A league It's all about the team, not me, says Timmy

  11. Just watched someone from channel 7 interview him walking into training— he didnt deny anything and repeated what the articles claim. Flog.

  12. I think one of my saddest memories of football is seeing Tommy end his career sitting on the bench for Melbourne City. After such an illustrious career, couldn't we have done better then that? If not a testimonial match, even a lap of honour would have been a way we could have said "thank you."

  13. If it were not true, TC should have already said so. He hasn't. The pressure is all on Joyce. We don't need that, and it could wreck our season. The situation needs to be fixed immediately. FFS, we needed a season without this sort of controversy. I hope we never sign another prima-donna player again.

  14. I'm not sure how accurate this story is but if true it doesn't do Cahill any favours. As far as I remember he signed a 3 year deal with us. 1st year was big dollars and subsidised by the FFA and being multi million dollar this second year was in the cap (a few hundred K) and the third some coaching role. So if Tim is unhappy and wants to leave he is basically walking away from CFG and in the hope of gaining regular game time (the cynic in me suggests more cash) in the hope of playing in a world cup. I'm not sure where in the world he could get game time at a decent level and secondly who knows what the new Socceroos coach will judge by this. It just seems like a poorly thought out move. Now all of this might be bullshit and Tim is committed to City and will fulfill his obligations and create something here and have a great world cup but if there are this many stories some of it must be close to be true.

  17. Mauk wouldn't try it. He doesn't have the arrogance to believe he can dictate selection. And he hasn't taken a shed load of money in the first year to welch as soon as the second year at lower money starts. And yes, he does believe he can win the media campaign and get what he wants, undermining the dressing room in the process. He can't be allowed to.

  18. So far 'Rossco' doesnt even deserve a spot on the U16 team

  19. I'm willing to see how this plays out. TBH I really think Cahill should be given a run at the 9 he does have the runs on the board at international level there. I'm not a fan of what he has done but I also feel this is a little storm in a teacup because its Cahill. If this was say Mauk then no one would (the media) would give a flying fuck.

  20. I suspect Nando was always likely to be the fall boy if they wanted to retain Rossco. No inside info, just the assumption I made when they mentioned they would like to sign someone that will possibly 'stay around'.

  21. Moreover, if he hasn't recanted by Friday and he does play, I can imagine the welcome he'll get from parts of the crowd... Hell hath no fury...

  22. Spot on BT. And as others have said, if he really is trying this on, he should be staying where he is and training on his own, or paying a good chunk of last year's wages back as part of any release settlement. Already some bollo in Guardian Australia today about how City should do what he wants. Media can go hang. We can't be any more hated as a club anyway. But he needs to be well away from the dressing room pronto. Absolute money grabbing flog.

  23. Genuine flog tbh. Takes our front-loaded big marquee money in 16/17 and now wants to leave in the 2nd year of his contract at ~$400k. We're under no obligation to release him and he can't transfer to any A-League clubs anyway. He can train on his own for the next 6 months for all I care. Let's see how that goes for his Socceroos hopes.

  26. People are overlooking the fact that this season 4 of the goals conceded were directly from individual players brain farts rather than strategic or tactical inadequacies which is pretty much the opposite of last year's defensive shambles. This just illustrates that the players are at fault rather than the coach as there are just some things the coach can't control and should not be held accountable for.

  27. This forum is fucked! A loss and the sky is falling in, and 4 wins in a row we are world beaters. It's always going to be somewhere in the middle.

  28. Use one teaspoon a day of local honey to desensitise your immune response to the localised pollens. In Melbourne I have put a few people onto Rooftop honey since August and they are having their best year in a long time. One of the kids has been a chronic sufferer and hasn't needed AHs at all this season. Worth a try.

  29. I have been saying since forever to attract more people we need to 1- win and 2- not be boring. Yesterdays game suggests to me that the "I don't care how we do it as long as we win" attitude is the minority. As great as it is to wave won the first three games of the season, it is pretty difficult to get sentimental about games like that.
