Plenty of Polaks in Melbourne we just don't like crowds, the weather, the price of food at AAMI park, birds, public toilets, crossing roads, people of non european lineage, public transport, wearing other footwear besides slippers, trees, wet grass, air... and the planet earth in general. We tend to stay home a lot as a result.
A survey showed there were not enough "polish identifying" people in Melbourne to make a real difference to crowd numbers. We are going after a Sudanese player instead.
I've wished Muslim friends Eid Mubarak. Seems to me it's basic respect and civility. As for the club, it isn't affiliated to any faith, it has Muslim supporters, and CFG is ultimately owned by people from a Muslim culture. Don't see any problem with the club wishing us Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah or Eid Mubarak. It's a multicultural city and our club has multicultural support.
Generational thing I think. "Faggot" I associate more with the rather foppish Edwardian youth type with a weak handshake, high collar and long hair, and who wore velvet waistcoats. "Poofter" more grubby middle-aged men with gravy stains on their lapels stinking of cheap Woodbines and loitering outside public conveniences.
This was a game you had to avoid losing at all costs as opposed to try and win.
We deserved what we got. Just another example of being ahead of yourself.
Yeah I don't think the little pundit bubble we have realises most of AUS players just are not good enough. IMO nothing will substantially change until we miss a World Cup
our first touch is awful, seriously, these guys are playing for the national team,? our passing was shiteful as well.
once you start with with shit touch and shit passes, and giving the ball away cheaply, forget about movement and defending, you are chasing shadows always
to tell you the truth , Japan weren't that much better,
Andy Harper has to be the most one eyed, biased commentator I've heard , since the old days of 3GL
Oh after watching that match and reflecting I hope the FFA review the rules around the A League in the context of that performance.
i get the argument maybe we could have started this guy or that guy but to me the fundamental problem is our players aren't that good and what quality we do have drops off very quickly. Someone is having a bad night in midfield and our options are ummm zero.
We need more young talented players coming through desperately.
