I'd hardly call that a dig to be fair. Still they're the ones who have to deal with their club overpaying for a player inside the cap who didn't want to be there a few months ago so good on them for seeing the funny side2 points

I was at the Bentleigh-WSW match, and despite the score Wanderers didn't look very creative at all. They are an ugly side to watch. Bentleigh are a good footballing side, but had no punch in the penalty area. We were following the City match via the web. Seems like we haven't eradicated our old failing of conceding goals too easily. The injuries to Bruno and Jakobsen are a real worry. An X-ray will show whether there's any bone damage to Bruno's ankle, and the medical staff will then take the injury from there.1 point

Bruno's gone for an X-ray, Jakobsen was walking so it doesn't look that bad.1 point

Disagree with this point, we coughed up 2 soft goals against a generally poor opposition who also had other good chances. Last season we had this problem and it cost us many points, I can't see that it's changed, yes it's pre-season etc but WSW and SFC kept clean sheets against arguably better opponents1 point

Good win, should have been 5 1 with silly errors in the midfield causing issues. Wazza is on track with better defensive structure and tactics, better and more direct ball movement into our forward 3rd, however the inherent indecisiveness in our mid field is still visible especially with Killa and Brattan. The absence of a quality No 10 is costing us dearly with no real quality link ups around the box. Arzani is better than Kamau and draws 2 defenders which he opens up nicely and creates chances. No damage done and the score flattered the opposition. Wazza has it under control.1 point

Maybe it's the type of opposition we play but we seem far behind in forward creativity vs teams like Sydney, WSW, Adelaide etc.1 point

I still have concerns about our defence, even more so without Jakobson1 point

Sydney are riding on the wave of last season's success, and WSW have recruited well. IMO we've done nothing really exciting in the transfer market so far, and our memberships are expensive when compared with other clubs. I also suggest that we release memberships far too early - there was little incentive for people to sign up when we had just limped out of the finals and didn't know who our new coach was to be. Even now, with so many vacant seats around the stadium, what is the incentive to sign up?1 point

Also, any updates on Budzinski? Overall, this match is going to be another stiff test. Non-league sides have nothing to lose in these situations, as we have discussed before. As long as we can get a couple of goals in front we'll be OK, but if we go behind or it goes to penalties then it could be a different story.1 point

I don't think that is how the cap works.... My understanding is the players registered with the team to play in the A-League and FFA Cup have their wages (and non exemp benefits) count towards the cap regardless of what the remuneration is for. Also I believe the cap is only breached when the payments exceed the cap and not if the club is obligated by contracts to pay more than the cap at the start of the season.1 point

I've just been keeping tabs of the game through the forum but I'm concerned at the very mention of conceding a soft goal. Only reason being is that that's now 3 games in a row that we have done so.0 points
