The development of Nick fitzgerald has been a real positive for the club this season. To think at the beginning of the season he was, lets say a fringe player at best to now being a walk on starter every week is a credit to him and his work ethic, well done mate.8 points

Am I the only one who'd love to see Red Bull buy the Victory? If only for the mental gymnastics the Tard fans would have to attempt to perform to justify continuing their support after the grief they've given us for being 'Plastic'5 points

Meh. We played shit, but we've played heaps better and still lost so I'll take it. 3 points, a first away win in Aus for a while and a step closer to finishing 3rd. Next.5 points

One of my biggest frustrations with this game was how and when we used our subs ... Too late and really Cahill should have come on for at least the last 15. We were very lucky to win4 points

yes it was an awful game but finally got to see an away win!3 points

Like I mentioned above I believe he has the potential, through how mature he is on the ball. But positioning and reading of the game comes with experience, which Ruon has only a little. Add to that gaining experience next to Malik (Imo worst 'senior' in the team) won't do him any good. People have to rememebr, what other options do we have back there currently? In order it's Jakobson, Tonyik, Malik, Muscat, Rose....... It's not a good list isn't it?3 points

For me it's not that Bruno has gotten any worse it's that the players around him this season are rubbish. Our playing style has gone to shit if a good coach is appointed and we sign a proper #10 he'll be back to how he was last season3 points

My Simpsons bias agrees with you, but the fact people managed a song with more than 3 lines was as much a miracle as his performances on the pitch2 points

Both Okon and Jones have surprised me how well they have done, they certainly value add to their teams. It will be interesting how they will go next year when they can start to build their squads, it shows the difference a good coach can have.2 points

IMO we've over-rated this guy. He's not ready for the A-League, not alongside Malik at any rate.2 points

Don't blame technology - blame the parents who prevent their kids from developing resilience. In the 70s when there were shoot outs in the city children were not spared and no counselling was offered to witnesses. These days a paper cut gets you a psychologist. AND DON'T GET ME STARTED IN 21st CENTURY OH&S.1 point

Fuck me, why are most A-League fans retarded? No wonder the league is fucked, the average fan must be getting paid $2 an hour and the government paying the rest to bring them up to the minimum wage, not much disposable income to contribute to the league's revenue. "Yeah Red Bull for Woop Woop South". Red Bull aren't going anywhere outside of Sydney and Melbourne, with maybe a slim chance of another big capital like Brisbane. Theyre not starting a Launceston or whatever fucking useless bumpkin town A-League fans fetishise over the league expanding into.1 point

I was just making an observation on the midfield being poor. Agree with you regarding Kilkenny and Caceras and Brattan they are ball playing midfielder’s and it is difficult when the midfield gets bypassed. I don't think that was the real issue yesterday in that we were punting from the back. Issue was the defense insisted on playing the sideways pass to a player in the worst position. The few times Ruon broke a line and got into space and released Kilkenny or Caceras they generally played a forward in. The entire team played well below what they are capable off including the midfield. FWIW I have played football (for many years probably a few too many if I'm honest) and predominantly as a midfielder.1 point

Interesting comment from Guardiola after Manchester City's 2-0 win away to Sunderland. Let's hope some of his philosophies filter across our new manager. City have kept five successive away clean sheets in all competitions and have 10 away league wins, although Guardiola was still not totally satisfied. "It was a good victory," he said. "But we were passing the ball between ourselves in the last 25 minutes." "I don't like to defend a result and be near our box. It is okay if you're 3-0 or 4-0 up but not 2-0."1 point

I have to disagree about it "being good Cahill was left out". Against a team that couldn't handle Brandan in the air and Fitzy whipping in quality crosses, he would have had a field day.1 point

I am absolutely not kidding and if you think players are too good to be told off if they mess up then you are wrong! I have seen it happen with better players than Bruno in a far higher calibre. For me this team needs a proper leader on the pitch who can communicate to the rest of the group and give them a bollocking when needed. Kilkenny did make a mistake afterwards and equally should have been told by someone else. Unfortunately the only other player who might have said something was sitting on the bench (Cahill). It is integral to any team that you have players driving their team mates on when they are up against it. If that means a bollocking is given out at times then that is fine by me.1 point

A lucky win against a better organised and more determined side. If we get a local coach I hope that it will be Okon - a classy player and a cluey coach. We owe 3 points to the ref who missed an incredibly obvious penalty, no wonder Okon was apoplectic. Positives: A win when we played poorly. We looked fluent and dangerous during the 2 or 3 10-15 second periods that we moved the ball forward quickly. The rest of the time we were shaded by CCM Bruno Negatives: Sydney showed us how to play against 10 men, we are clueless - too many square balls invite interception and nullify any advantage from the extra player. After CCM went to 10 men it looked like we were the team that were down a player, struggled to find space, overloaded constantly in defence, unable to overload CCM when we went forward. We can't defend, even against a bottom team with 10 players. Forget doing anything in the finals. Even if Jakobsen is back he'll have maybe 2 or 3 games with Tongyik before the finals start - not enough time to be consistent enough to win 3 finals games. Josh Rose - too slow, offers little Kilkenny is very frustrating, clearly talented and could be the best defensive mid in the League but needs 2 or 3 years of therapy. Is there a single player in the team that looks happy to be there?1 point

What an awful match. Why is it that whenever we have the spare player we play worse? No structure in the second half, poor central defensive pairing, the midfield is a sieve and we have an inability to score from open play. A win is a win but fuck me that was tough to watch.1 point

TTIM: SBS Viceland. Besides playing the A-league its an absolute abortion leftist wankfest of the highest order. 90% of the channel is either inbred hicks saying semi racist shit to some phaggot "jorno" in skinny jeans while he pretends its the norm in a western society, people getting trolled on the internet and saying they PTSD from it and teenaged gays getting beaten up by Russian skinheads. Its a fucking parody of the Kony 2012 videos1 point

Quite right. The dressing culture has evolved and most normal people can differentiate between those who like the fashion elements of trainers/goggle jackets and those who are keen to kick the shit out of a stranger in a park. "Most normal people" being the important words in that statement. Unfortunately in Australia we have a bit of an issue where wearing a stone island jacket or a Fred Perry polo to a football match is like wearing a shirt saying "please fight me" to certain groups who support other clubs1 point
-
Yeah it kind of was, but I didn't actually know who he was. When this happens (which it does a lot) I normally google the guy, but CBF this time and wanted to make the point that a lot of people wouldn't have any idea about him (which has nothing to do with whether he can play or not).1 point

Just win fucking games in whatever way how!1 point

Our problem wasn't that we performed well and didn't get results it's that we performed poorly hence why we didn't get results. Arnold, Ang, Pep, Mourinho and Conte these guys are all about process and performance. They know if they get this right they will win games. They are judged by results but they work by process. Big Sam is about results. I know what approach I prefer. JVS simply tried to apply a performance based approach. Unfortunately for us he is just a shit coach with a shit process who shoe horned our guys into a static and predictable setup. That doesn't mean that we shouldn't have a coach who is looking for certain performance indicators. If you keep losing it just means the coaches performance indicators are not a decent measure of success or the coach is not getting the squad to fulfil those outcomes. But it doesn't mean the approach is flawed. I think what we can both agree on is that neither performances or results have been good this season and that is largely attributable to poor coaching.1 point

I signed up my nephew and niece. Pretty much bought them their membership whether they liked it or not and took some bribing to get them to go but now love going and the nephew just started playing football for a team. My brother said he will sign up next season too because of his kids. If we do well in the finals series I don't see why we can't surpass our current membership.1 point
