  1. In. Despite this being the 6th season (counting the 13/14 half season) I have followed a JVS coached team, and despite relocating to Shanghai, China for work--which has kept me busy lately and will keep me rather busy throughout the season--I have bought a membership, and will somehow follow Melbourne City through every game this season. Especially because I believe in this bunch of players (despite the coach), lead by El Tuna, I look forward to the 2016-17 season!

  12. Why Bruno Fornaroli rejected big money offers to stay with Melbourne City Matt Windley October 2, 2016 THE greatest fear of Melbourne City fans this off-season was that goal scoring sensation Bruno Fornaroli would leave the club. But the man himself insisted he never entertained any thought of leaving, despite being the subject of big money offers elsewhere. Fornaroli’s debut A-League campaign was stunning, with the Uruguayan’s 25 goals helping catapult City to its best-ever season. The 29-year-old still had a year to run on a modest contract inside the $2.6m salary cap, but City chiefs quickly offered their rising star a three-year deal to become one of the club’s marquee players. With Fornaroli back in Uruguay post-season, the multi-million dollar contract remained on the table for some time, but the dreams of City fans were realised when the man who has since become their captain re-signed in August. “I had in my mind to stay,” Fornaroli said. “When I went away on my holiday, I had not re-signed the contract but I had talked a lot with the club and I knew that when some things would be fixed with my contract I would re-sign. “I am very happy here, the club has helped me so much and my family as well. “I know I sign for three years, but I want to stay a long time. I want to be here because I feel at home and this is great for me. “My wife loves it here, my little girl start to learn English — I need to learn too. “This country opened the door for me and my family and I want to say thank you for this.” Europe potentially beckoned for the striker, Uruguayan clubs inquired, while the cashed-up Chinese Super League also loomed. But Fornaroli said none of those options boasted Melbourne’s money-can’t-buy opportunities, with No.1 on his list the potential to win City’s first title. “When you finish the league and you score like last season, it’s normal that the offers come in,” he said. “But not everything is about money. Money can’t buy everything in your life. “I feel great inside this changeroom. This is the money can’t buy (experience). “There were big offers, but sometimes you need to think about what is important. I am happy I take this decision.” http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/football/why-bruno-fornaroli-rejected-big-money-offers-to-stay-with-melbourne-city/news-story/bc30a1b2817c4d69098b5d1549c6af50

  13. Haha actually my mate's couch, he was off work yesterday and able to receive the package, gotta pick mine up from the post office today. I've seen the keyring too, it's a 2 sided jersey with the home stripe on one side and the away on the other.

  16. Anyone who would get turned off by soccer ads are people who probably dont like the sport period so they dont bother me. We have to get out of this mentality that we need to bend over for the AFL/NRL. Get those ad's out and let them know that once the AFL/NRL seasons are over, A League bis ready to go to get your sports fix. I love football, but AFL was probably what i'd say i was into more with me following Liverpool being in another country not really being drawn into Victory or the A League. Heart came in and i thought I'd give it a go so i have something to do during the AFL off season. Now its turned a full 360 and the AFL is what i do to pass the time during the A League off season. Have to find a way to try and hook in Sports fans and not just AFL/NRL only fans.

  17. I remember a mate got a Vic 20. It had like a tape deck for a drive and it took probably 20 minutes to load a game. One day one of his old style wog uncles saw us playing and he took him aside and told him to stop wasting time playing games and try and work out this weeks tattslotto numbers.

  18. I remember in like 1991 reading old Video Game magazines from 1989/1990 where Sega tried to make a big deal about Italia 90... Then I remember being pretty disappointed when playing it against my dad at Timezone and when hiring it out to play it on my Master System Two (Yeah - I am that old I can remember hiring Master System games). LOL - I cant find a picture but anyone remember the Timezone game when you kicked a real ball attached to a rope in a Penalty Shoot Out... I use to play that heaps with my Younger Brothers at Freo Timezone and every third kick the machine would fuck up.

  19. Probably this. Id also perhaps say that the talent pool is a bit further diluted too with 20 teams as opposed to 10 although they are allowed more international slots (its some wierd system with 160 slots over the 20 teams that are tradable). Obviously the dilution is offset somewhat by the sheer volume of population too but overall i dont think the quality is any better. Probably worth noting that some of those marquees are the older superstars ie Pirlo, Gerrard whose best is well and truly behind them but are marquees in the true sense of the marketing term.

  20. Nah no way. I've been watching a fair bit of the MLS this off-season and it's certainly no better than the A-League imo. Perhaps a bit more technical, but it's much slower and far less physical than the A-League

  26. I actually think theres something to that, homo's on average have higher IQ's... They spend less money, fuck more and get smarter... They will slowly die out though, along with the west in general. Homo's have left their post 1950's closet and aren't breeding, women think dogs are kids, they want to sit on the couch with their dog children and watch "Mob Wives" all day and not cook dinner or give decent blow jobs. Chivalry is dead, romance is aids, sex is ruined and divorce is just something everyone does.

  30. Yeah, I remember 45 minutes halves in a few versions but mainly in the first version where they went to the proper pitch and scrapped they shitty diagonal pitch (I had a copy of this on a secondhand Mega Drive at College). Anyway the version I am thinking of is 1996 because I remember Blackburn being really good and having to trade Shearer to NUFC to make more realistic. Anyway my mate and I played 45 minutes once and stopped at like 35 to 20. However a lot of the goals being from Corners because if you highlighted the block nearer the flag the guy next to him always headed it in... to the point that this Central Defender usually won man of the match.

I've got the curse of 'finishing something i've strated' so i'm stuck watching Arrow, Flash, etc... and the worst part was that i watched the whole series of 'Merlin'. Fucking agonising.

  38. I witnessed that happen at Ikea in Richmond with an azn couple in a Budget mini truck. I saw them sit there after they hit the height bar and could see the same thought go through their mind, they then proceeded to drive through the carpark scraping the shit out of the top of the truck.

  42. He was shafted last season, too, when the Warren went to Castro. It was quite clear that Mooy should have won, but that would have meant too many awards to City. This is precisely the sort of thing that leads to the general distrust of FFA.
